how long does methadone take to get out of my sysem so i can pass a drug test

Not true I am afraid! My pain management doctor has a urine test that detects the methadone for up to 14 days! This is also the second pain management doctor I have been a patient with and the tests were the same...... Sorry

I have been on methadone for 7 years and presently taking it for pain/addiction. I have had surgery on my lumbar spine 9 years ago and have been on "opiates" (hydromorphcontin, oxycodone, phentanol, percocet(as a breakthrough as well as dilaudid). What my experience has been is that to be 100% SURE that it will not SHOW in a urinanalysis-aka piss-test- it takes at least 5 days...depending on how fast your metabolism is. Mine is slow-so...to be POSITIVE...6 days...Hope this help! I have been in the best clinics in the world so please believe me when I say this!!

there is no way that just because you have been on methadone for a certain amount of time that it wont jsut show up in your system. if u take it then its going to be in there but you have to get a special test for them to detect it. whoever that doctor was should have his lisence taken away for such a stupid comment.

not rare if doc is testing he uses 10 panel drug screen and it does show p as methadone and that was after 30 days

Oregon does the 10 panel test whitch tests for methadone and they are even testing for spice as well!!

my boyfriend is on probation and he was taking methdone and when his po called him to come in to for a drug screen. he failed for opiates. and that was like the 3 or four day after taking it.

methadone has a long life 2-3 days before it even starts to come out of your system where most narcotics have a 6-8 hour life so where u might be about 4-5 days coming off say oxy or morphine depending on amount and how long you have been using the substance you are looking at a week to two weeks to get methadone out of your system probably closer to 2 weeks i was at 120mg and went off cold turkey it was hell morphine 200mg wasnt even doing it with Valium it was about 2 weeks before i felt the effects of withdraw from the methadone gone hope this helps a little.
