how long does methadone take to get out of my sysem so i can pass a drug test

I don't kno about that I have been on methadone for 14 yrs & still get tested everymonth. They not only test 4 the methadone but also the metabolites.don't kno why yours doesn't show up. That's really weird wats happening 2 u. As for the girl in the sauna, when u r on a high dose u tend to really sweat. I used to take 150mg & I'm a nurse & because our hospital isn't airconditioned i'd sweat like a pig. I'm now down to 60mg & its much different. Some jobs test for methadone but it should show u what they r testing for. If u go to a clinic u have a perscription so just say u take it. The lab has to report that as a negative test because it is perscription. By law they r not allowed to tell the employer what perscription drugs u take. Hope this helps..

I stopped taking methadone last year late nov. and i am still testing positive for it.... it's very concerning people think it's 3-7 days...NOPE...it's more , way more... i only went to the clinic for 3 or 3 n half months

It takes a long time for methadone to get out of your system...I took 30mg for 5 days in a row and i havent taken anything in 8 days and i still tested positive yesterday..twice...so it caN take anywhere from 7 to 21 days from what ive been told and from what I have read,,,,and as far as Probation in NY testing for it..yes they do..they do a 12 panes test everytime

was on a meth program for 10 years and have come a long way. part of my job now is notify stores on applicants drug test results....yes it does so show up and my company doesn't pay for the high end drug tests.

Never double your dose of methadone cause you can overdose!! Ive bin taking methadone for over a year and I go days without my script cause I hate it so much, and I feel really F'd up when I go back to my regular dose after 2-3 days. I asked my Dr. why and he said its cause I'm overdosing myself. Jeremyp reply back and let me know how it all worked out for you.

I agree, I've been off Methadone for 2 weeks now and I'm still going through withdrawls. So It must show up in your drug test, depending on amount, time, and just YOUR body!

Urine drug screens include "opiates," and guess what? Methadone is an opiate and will cause a positive result. All this talk about not specifically testing for methadone is wrong. Your doc doesnt need to order a specific test for methadone because it is an opiate, just like heroin, o.c.s, etc.

The 10 panel tests that EVERYONE is using tests for methadone...2 weeks after taking ONE 10 mg STILL testing positive in urine

Dear Sir, I RESPECT your occupation and understand ....HOWEVER the 10 panel urine test specifically test for methadone 2 WEEKS after taking 1 ONE I repeat ONE 10 mg still testing positive in my urine. I am female in my 50's weight 146 lbs

I can tell you from personal experience, it shows up at 7 days on a pain management screen. I was in agony and was graciously given 30 mg of methadone on a Tuesday from a friend of my cousin's rabbits dog and when I went to my pm doc, I popped hot the following Wednesday...Best of luck to you, but it got me booted from pm and may get the dog in trouble as well, cause they go to the same doc....I have read that Nyquil and Elavil will cause false positive, and I had told the nurse I was taking Nyquil, which I was, BEFORE they even mentioned a test, so it may have been the Nyquil, but I doubt it. I'd like to say I'd learned my lesson and wouldn't do it again, but if I hurt that badly again, especially now that pm dismissed me, I won't lie. Best advice I can give is like someone said earlier, if you tell lab it's through a clinic it falls under HIPPA and they cannot say anything to employer about you being on it and it will come back as a clear test most likely cause they will just assume that's why it showed up...

a simple NIDA 5 panel drug screen used by most employers will not test for synthetics like methadone but if "they" want to there is a 7-21 panel drug test that can test for just about everything. The standard time for methadone to remain in your system is 3-12 days. If you are NOT a habitual user than it will be closer to the 72 hour mark. Note: THIS ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR SPECIFIC DRUG METABOLISM. This is dependent upon far too many variables to create an exact science. DRINK ALL THE WATER YOU CAN AND BUY A REAL DETOX SYSTEM THAT SAYS IT WILL FLUSH IT OUT. FOLLOW THOSE INSTRUCTIONS TO A T. Good luck and God bless.

yes the doctor office do test for methadone it is on a standard 10 panel drug screen but the main question everyone is trying to ask has still gone unanswered if u stop methadone 10 days before the screening will be gone or will u test positive for this medication ? Can anyone answer that question ? Please

Methadone stores in your fat tissues and takes AT LEAST 7 days to come out.  For me it took 10 days for me to finally pee clean at my pain management doctors. However, most employers dont test for this unless you are applying for a government type of job. IF so you Dr or clinic can provide you with a script to show that it is legit. They cant not hire you for a doctors perscription. Unless again if its a government job and claim that it would have mind alterning affects thus not allowing you to perform your job. You can always ask employee health what their protocal is for pain medication. I just went through this myself.
