I FULLY concur. Debbie is FAR from a pro (a 'pregnant retarded ostrich' perhaps, but not even close to a suboxone pro)! Debbie just what makes you a so-called suboxone "pro"??? You one of those lying psychiatrists trying to hook anyone you can on this garbage just so you can pad your pockets? Or maybe you happen to be a happy little ex-opiate junkie who is frolicking happily on suboxone while KIDDING YOURSELF that you're free? If that happens to be the case, I challenge you to just STOP taking subs fully and immediately... Then tell us you're a "pro"...Shut up miss Debbie, you have zero idea of what you are saying and shouldn't be as close as million miles from to this forum

I just switched from Suboxone to Methadone and I didn't feel a thing from the Methadone. I've been on suboxone for about 7 years now (unfortunately) and I can not afford it any longer. I wish I could just get off of them but I do not have the willpower. Due to certain things going on in my life, I do not trust myself to completely be off of a blocker so I decided to switch to the methadone. They told me to not take any suboxones for 48 hours before coming there and like I said, I didn't feel a thing! I really hope tomorrow is better. I just now noticed this was posted about a year ago, so how long did it take you to feel the methadone?

actually, they can detect it....trust me I KNOW..it is not on the standard 10 stick drug test but if they suspect u using suboxone then they can request a specific test which is for suboxone only....many ppl i know got caught in rehab thinking they didnt have a test for it....but the truth is it will not show up on a regular drug test...not as opiate or anything!!

This is not true there are drug tests that test specifically for suboxone, if they are testing for opiates it will not show up but it can be detected.

You will have w/d's, however if u taper very slowly it could only be mild discomfort, if u jumped off a dose of 8 or higher(everybody's body reacts differently) u will feel ur body tempature not being able to stay stable(hot to cold/cold sweats). Ive been on subs for 4 years(not claiming to be a pro) an i started at 16 a day an by my 3rd year i got down to 8 mg's a day. An as for opiates not working on subs is just not true, if i wanted to go on a lil binge i was able to shoot a bag 12 hours after 4mg dose an really felt it. u can shoot through almost any dose of sub but the higher dose of sub the more likely you will overdose when u finally break through the sub barrier. Ive also been able to take a sub 12 hours after my last shot without getting sick. This might be because of my fast metabolism, or the fact that i only would do 1 to 2 bags tops. i wouldnt do this based off MY trial an success cuz i would hate to put any of u in a state of precipitated withdraw(taking subs to early after opiates)ripping any heroin left bound to receptors. How this contradiction helps

Why would you take sub too? That makes no sense.

You are wrong... stop giving advice. They DO test for subs.. I know people who have been fired for having sub in their system.

Okay people you are wrong about suboxone and drug testing. I was on subs for 6 months and was drug tested regularly. I have taken employment drug test and 12 panel drug testing on the color system. Subs will not show on any standard drug test and has to be tested for on its own. It will not show up as morphine or oxy. Please stop telling people it will show up on any regular panel drug test. It will NOT show up unless they are testing for it

You are absolutely RIGHT! Just last month my doctor "surprise" tested me because I am on Klonopin...I thought I was slick and it would not come up and guess what ...I got a letter in the mail stating the found SUBOXONE ( which I have been taking for a couple years NOT prescribed to me and I am now in a bunch of sh*t with my doctor and may not get my medicine which I have been taking for 8 years...So for all you people who think "Oh it won't come up" It most certainly does and will so be careful. No I am not a medical professional but I just had real life experience

let me tell you all this...

i was a heroin user for 10 years and after that was on methadone for 6 years at an 80ml dose and still using...

i was desperate to get off the opiate and methadone c**p ,so i decided to go onto subutex..the swapping dose from methadone was 20ml, you should abstain from methadone for at least 36 hours before taking subutex and at least 16 hours from opiates otherwise acute withdrawl WILLl happen..

i started on a 6ml dose then went down to 4ml..stayed on 4ml for 6 weeks, but still craved heroin as my brain chemistry was all mixed up after all those years..all i can say as an ex heroin and methadone addict for 10 years is that switching was the best thing i ever did..as buprenorphine is a partial antagonist, taking heroin on top will only waste your money and make you feel ill..

as long as you keep taking your dose of subutex every morning, your brain will soon understand that taking any opiates will not work so your brain will start accepting this and the cravings will subside...

keep at it and before you know it your brain chemistry will repair itself and will forget all about heroin use, around 3 months.

i can honestly say that i will never take heroin again, and have been sober for r4 years now..in the early dats i thought id never conquer my addiction,as i was always low mooded during subutex treatment but if you stick at it you will go back to a healthy normal life and start living again ....all in all from suboxone treatment to getting off was 8 months,,just do it slowly to avoid re-lapse,

there is hope and never give up on giving up..your time will come when youve finally had enough.......

i now love my life so much, its such a far cry from my using days,,i look back and it never seems that was me,a full blown junkie begging and living off the streets..e.c.t.

i once accepted i was a junkie, and that was inmy last life as far as im concerened..

ill always be in recovery, but thats fine by me as i will never go there again!! good luck to any-one in addiction, there is hope and help..just reach out and grab the oppurtunity by the horns

You are very wrong about the half life of suboxone It goes like this, Suboxone has a 36hour half life. This means that 36 hours after takeing suboxone 50% will be lelf in your system. Half life of any medication works the same. Half life means how long until half of the medication is out of your system.
