if any of you ran in highschool, how much did you improve each year?
i looked at steve pre and it looked like his times dropped a heck of a lot in the mile run when he went from 15 to 16 years old. if he was still alive i would ask him how he did it (God rest his soul)
but, does anyone else know how much they improve in a year? how many seconds do you drop of your time? mile, 2 mile, and 5k is what i usually run

i went from a 5:30 mile to a 5:13 mile this year (13 years old to 14 years old). Pretty nice jump considering that I never actually really did any mile-specific training for it.
I got worse each year :(
I know I got better in High School but I can't remember how much better.
When I was a freshman...
mile - 5:35 to 4:55
2 mile - 11:45
5k - 19:30
sophmore...
mile - 4:55 to 4:33
2 mile - 11:45 to 10:08
5k - 17:30
Suddenly my sophmore year I started caring about the 2 mile. And since I played soccer in the fall, my cross country times weren't great.

wow, thats a great change in times, that brings my hopes up for next year a lot!!
this year's times
1600, mile: 4:57
3200, 2 mile: 10:42
what do you think are some realistic goals for next year?
maybe try and go for sub 4:30 and sub 10:15?
what do you think i should try for
