So I'm only 26 and have hemorrhoids...
I didn't know what they were at first and finally actually went to a doctor a month back. They weren't really bothering me then other than the fact that I knew they were there and it made sanitation a little more difficult. The doctor told me if there's no bleeding, no pain, then I don't need to worry.
Ever since then, they've gotten progressively worse. I've been using cream, been walking/running more, even taking fiber suppliments (even though I've never had a constipation problem), and it worked for a little while, but since last week, they've come back seeking much vengeance. Last week they actually started to feel uncomfortable, especially after using the restroom. Now, it's starting to hurt just to walk and get up/sit down.
I can't really afford to go to the hospital, but I know that's what I should do. I want to talk to my doctor first, but I can never get a quick appointment with him. Should I just go to the emergency room? Or should I stick it out for a couple days and try and get an appointment?
Also, how much does treatment usually run? Taking time off from two jobs for a surgery will be difficult... Does the recovery usually take a long time? Painful? I've never really had surgery before...
