how soon do you lose weight after going of depo provera?

When did you get your period? I havent gotten mine and i have been off of it for a month.

I'm glad the shot helped you! I started the shot when I was 16 and I weighed around 130lbs. I'm am 5'8" tall so that's a nice weight without me looking sick. I went to Planned Parenthood and they told me EVERYTHING that could possibly happen, and what is was intended to do. It worked for me exactly like it was supposed to. (I must be one of the few) I was told the shot keeps you from having a cycle because it "tricks" your body into thinking it's going through either early menopause or that your pregnant. They also warned me that it could affect my bone density. They really took the time to walk me through all the pros and cons of the contraceptive! I loved the shot! But I got off the shot when I was 27 because my body got so used to it I started having a cycle again. I got placed on a pill to keep up with a birth control and by that time I only weighed 140lbs! Only a ten pound difference in 11 years! That's awesome! But! Only a short time after getting off the shot (6 months) I got pregnant! AND I used a condom! Crazy! Guess it was meant to be lol After having my son, I got right back on it. I gained 77 lbs while pregnant! And have been having a hard time getting it off but I'm not fat. It does sound like it when I tell you that I now weigh 212! Lol but it IS coming off now because I'm 40 and just stopped taking it

I was on it was 3 months and I was 143 no I'm almost 200lbs but as my period start coming back i been able to slim down a little but my weight is so up and down have u had any results ?

I have been on the depo for 5 years now the first few year's were ok but since I had my shot in January this year I have put on nearly 4 stone..... I am really angry and depressed by it.. My weight before the shot in January was just under 9 stone and now nearly 13 stone. I have been to my gp who tells me that it is impossible to put that much weight on in that amount of time and can only gain 3 pounds. Gp sent me for thyroid tests and it came back fine.. I know it is the depo that is doing it. Also they nurse told me in September that they had changed the formula for the depo at the beginning of the year which also in my mind tells me that it IS the depo causing it... I have decided to now completely stop... Has anyone else experienced this amount of weight gain and has anyone lost weight since being off it? Thanks

I’ve gained a lot of weight on Depo too. I was eating healthy and working out, but the weight kept piling on. I know it was the depo that did it and now I am struggling to lose the weight.

How long have you been off the depo for? I was due mine on 1 November but not going for it anymore

I was on and off depo for 2 years this last depo shot didn't get back on it and I lost 6 pounds that same mth and still losing I was gaining weight on it to. I'm having pregnancy symptoms urining a lot breast tenderness cramps lower back and a small bump coming out the bottom off my belly I took 3 test all negative idk what's going on

The next mth I lost 6 pounds just like that . Still loseing weight no appetite breast tenderness cramping back feet bulge in the bottom of my belly coming out and urining a lot . Took 3 test all negative wounder if I'm pregnant

I usually get mine after depo the same mth or beginning of next mth but haven't got mine yet

Yes write after getting off depo I lost 6 pounds easy I was gaining weight on it but still having pregnancy symptoms
