Fordyce spots are visible sebaceous glands that are present in most individuals. They appear on the genitals and/or in the mouth. They appear as small, painless, raised, pale, red or white spots or bumps 1 to 3 mm in diameter that may appear on the scrotum, shaft of the penis or on the labia , as well as the inner surface (retromolar mucosa) and vermilion border of the lips of the face. They are not associated with any disease or illness, nor are they infectious but rather they represent a natural occurrence on the body. No treatment is therefore required, unless the individual has cosmetic concerns. Persons with this condition sometimes consult with a dermatologist because they are worried they may have a sexually transmitted disease

I honestly thought I had Herpes, I was like DAMN IT! there goes my life and I'm only 17, I finally manned up and Googled herpes cause I didn't know what they looked like other than they were little bumps, so I looked up herpes and I thought, mine don't look like that at all... and they never break out like herpes does. So I googled white bumps on penis and I found a yahoo answers and they said that it was Fordyce spots and that it wasn't a disease and it made my life. it took balls to finally look it up (pun intended) and I'm glad I looked it up!

for people not wanting to go to a doctor or anywhere for prescriptions. give burts bees herbal blemish stick a try. it burns when applying, but its effective in drying and removing the skin its being applied to. i havent tried it on lips tho and probably wouldnt recommend it. just apply after showering every night and keep a clean shave and u should see some serious results after a week or less. everyones different so its possible it might not work but its an option and ive been sticking with it.

I had Fordyce Spots since i can remember. I' m now 40. I read about about Dr. Pallua' s technique in this forum and Last week I took a plane to Aachen -Germany. A day after a consutation with Dr. Pallua (needs to be booked 3 months in advance) I had my surgery, in 4 1/2 hours they removed 238 spots. In few days they will remove all the stitches. I will keep you updated with the results

I'm about to turn 15 this February, I've had these bumps since I was about 12-13. Doesn't seem that long but to me I never really noticed them. Tonight I started to wonder why they never went away, to be honest I thought it was hair pores or something. I started doing sole googling and and found this forum. I completely never minded having them or anything and they really don't make me worry because I have a girlfriend and she has seen my thing before. Don't think she noticed them but even if she did I'd be somewhat embarrassed. A cure for this is necessary because it makes me feel very self concious about it, what will she think if she does notice? I mean would we wanna go down on a girl if she had them?

hi guest, there's nothing to worry about every guy gets them and there not able to be passed on and yes girls can get them on there labia too! Some people get them on other parts of there bodies like around there mouth or hands so at least they can't be seen by all. In time your slowly grow out of them so don't worry!

So I'm 21 and I just noticed I started getting them on my lip. I've had them on my shaft for some time and trust me girls don't pay attention to them but. I was freaking out at first when I found them on my lip. But I looked it up and found this. I noticed once I stopped eating a lot of dairy products they became a lot less noticeable. Also I noticed that at night my bumps tend to go down and almost disappear. I've consulted with my dermatologist and she wants to wait about three weeks before she diagnoses fordyce spots because she says its weird how I just have them on two parts of my lip and not on the inside. Pretty weird I know. But for now I'm keeping a journal of my diet and adding exercise to see how it works!

Was reading through all these post and noticed most people said they can't pop theirs. I've had mine for a few years now and although I can't pop most of them, so of them I can. Usually after a couple of months after appearing. Was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this is still fordyce spots or if I should be searching for another diagnosis?

Why are people so worried about fordyce spots? I don't go around looking at other guys' junk but, reading about it on the internet, it seems many is not most people have them. They also look totally harmless, not disgusting at all. Am I missing something?
