Hi, i'm a leaver in high school, this growling came a few months ago and is it very embarrassing especially during exams and the teacher looks at you weirdly. i understand how everyone feels when their body just does this. Personally, i became vegan but since it just become worse. Then i went to the doctors and they said too much fruit and eggs etc will cause gas and make your stomach growl, but then i really cant eat anything :( I do exercise a bit and i'm getting plenty of fiber from fruit and veg and i do mediate regularly as well and i eat really slowly (my doc says i eat too slowly :P) and may God helps us and all those who need help too

Although it may seem horrable, it is just a noise. There are many other very serious healh problems like chrons and colitis in wich people can not even go to class or work because they have to be on the toilet all day. Eat healthy, exercise and be greatful you can go to work and class.

Hi, I'm only 13, and my stomach gurgles all the time in class and i hate it! Once, there was a boy that I really liked, and I was just going to ask him something when my stomach totally freaked out on me!! Now he won't talk to me!! I am so embarrassed!!! I haven't tried any drugs to help, but I thought it was totally normal for awhile, because it just started last year. Now, because i've been looking this up on the internet, i found out it's not so normal! hopefully i will find something that will help me.

i have this same thing. im a sophmore in highschool and freshman year it wasnt bad, but now its just horrible. ive always had stomach problems in the past, so i always thought it was the same thing. but now as i grow up, its not the same pain. its in the left side, im 90% sure its gas pain, but i still want a solution. when i got my physcial i asked my doctor about it and said simply, 'everyone gets gas pains, some worse than others. but nothing to worry about'.. so my mom took his word&it just keeps getting worse. no matter what i do or eat nothing gets better. i need help. i cant focus in school anymore because im so paranoid about my stomach noises that my grades are dropping. i have a future ahead of me, i cant let this make me fall backwords. help?

Hi guys,
so I've had the same problem for 1,5 years now. I've recently found that eating really slow prevents me from swallowing to much air and makes it better.
Also I've been taking charcoal pills, they have the ability to absorb gases which prevents my stomach from grumbling all the time.
If you do both and try to keep your stress level down you should see great improvement as I have.
Cheers.
God bless to all!

Eat slow, drink a lot of water, take supplements, change some of the food that does not work well with you. Also get colon hydrotherapy.

Hi, I want to share some advice with people who are experiencing discomfort and embarrassment from their intestinal rumblings(sounds). I too suffer from this problem; but with years of research, I am now able to manage this health issue. First, to anyone who says "it's just sounds, get over it" needs to understand that just like combing your hair, using deodorant, and wearing clean clothes, people want to be able to go about their lives in social settings without causing unwanted attention to themselves. Please do not make these people feel shallow for wanting to go about their lives without embarrassment. Now, to the solutions, I highly recommend the book 'Eat Right 4 Your Type'. This book is a must for anyone who wants to take back control of their digestion. The book explains that your blood type has a lot to do with how you digest your food. You will be blown away by what foods you simply cannot eat without discomfort and rumblings. But, thankfully, you will be given a generous list of foods that you not only can eat but will also improve your gastro intestinal tract! In addition, by eating right, your overall health will improve. The challenge will be whether you are willing to give up the many processed foods that are a staple of the American diet. But, for now anyone who has an exam or needs their stomach quiet; flush out your stomach and intestines by eating only fresh pineapples, and drinking water. If you feel too weak, or need some protein, eat a small handful of peanuts. Also, do some sit-ups, this will start to tone the stomach and intestines. Once you are in the classroom, if you feel uncomfortable do one of these options; the option you choose will probably depend upon the severity of your discomfort. For severe, out of control discomfort simply stand up and walk up to the teacher and say quietly, but sternly, "I must go to the restroom" and leave. Have a bowel movement and return. For minor discomfort, or anxiety, take a long deep breath and hold your breath and squeeze your butt as hard as you can for as long as you can; exhale and repeat until the spasms(which cause the rumblings) stop(usually spasms will continue for 10 minutes or so). Now, go get the book( and no I am not the author or benefiting by recommending) and take back control of your life.

Looking at these posts there seems to be a couple of trends in the symptoms and subjects:
1) most of us started getting these problems in our teens (my own stomach began alternating between loud/frequent stomach growls and deeper gassy ones around 6th grade but I'd thrown up a few times in elementary school)
2) the sound tends to emit from the left side of the body
3) doctors haven't really come up with a diagnosis, only a variety of treatments to mitigate the symptoms of whatever unknown disease we have
I really wish some doctor or scientist would hurry up and discover what disease we have (IBS sounds like a cop out to me) because it's irritating that we all have to resort to home remedies and prayer for our medical needs. I wonder if this issue has gone on so long because there's so much shame involved with having stomach problems. I'm a sophomore in college now and have managed to maintain decent grades, but I've had several HIGHLY EMBARRASSING incidents (many during high school and a few in college). So tired of this c**p and the wishy-washy doctor's advice. Whenever sh*t goes down in class with my stomach/intestines/whatever I tend to just wait it out and deal with it (fairly inured to this kind of humiliation at this stage), but I'm really sick and tired of this 'cause I want to be able to focus on tests without having to pull out a bag of crackers like a security blanket. I want a name for whatever I am plagued with and a way to test for it. If there're certain foods that are causing it then I'm fine with eliminating them from my diet, but I really don't wanna have to keep up a uber healthy super picky lifestyle just because no medical professional really knows what's wrong with me. Also, while I believe that anxiety does increase the stomach growling, I doubt that it's the root cause. There has to be some leading gastroenterologist out there who has a clue.

I'm 14, and I HATE this. I usually don't eat late the night before, I eat around 5:30-6:45 and that's my dinner.
And I don't eat stuff that produces lots of gas (cheese, certain vegetables..ect).
In the morning I try to go to the rest room. If my stomach is growling the next day and I can't do anything about it, I usually ask to do my work outside in the hallway (just tell the teacher you work better alone.) or I walk around a lot.
