Hello! I went for my regular gyn exam a few days ago when I was ordered to have colposcopy. I have never heard about this procedure before. I was found to have small condilommas, I think on the cervix, and this doc suggested he performed laser surgery immediately. Then I did some reading, and found info that the small ones should not be lasered until they grew because they may re-appear, so I am confused about the doctor’s kind offer to get them removed at his private practice, which is not so cheap. Any advise is highly appreaciated.Thx

Hi! I think you should get a second opinion definitely. I also had small condilomas and my doc sent me home 3 times, every six months, saying they were too small to do anything about them and that I should continue having regular check ups. She even suggested having tests to see what strain it is but I haven’t done because I went to see another doc who told me that I don’t have condilomas anymore. I was confused because they were seen three times before. I also did some reading and realized that out immune system can actually get rid of condiloma and which is even better, in some cases it can get rid of the virus itself. So, I would suggest you saw another doc for a second opinion because my cousin had laser surgery for big warts and she couldn’t move for the next 10 days because everything hurt so badly. So, talk to another doctor about what you should do. Good luck!
