Hi, I have a big issue that's starting to seriously interfere with my everyday life. I am sleepy all the time - I have anemia but I'm taking iron pills (they don't help). I've tried everything - healthy food, fresh air, iron pills, coffee, more coffee, good, long sleep etc. And still, I wake up tired, I go trough the day looking forward to my nap, if I don't get it my legs get shaky, my arms get weak, my eyes hurt. I don't feel refreshed after my nap as well, but I feel at least a little bit better. Oh, and my head hurts all the time, it's difficult to concentrate, memorize things, analyze things or make a decent sentence, sometimes. No painkillers help. I'm very confused.

Hi, mrjauau.

Your problem with constant tiredness, does it occur along with anemia or later? And also, do you fall asleep suddenly in the middle of some action (driving, siting, eating, talking, etc)?

How much time do you need to fall asleep? Normal adult person usually needs 10-20 minutes. If your time is shorter, maybe you have narcolepsy. That's some sort of sleep disorder.

Other symptoms includes : exhaustion, trouble with concentration, lack of energy, depression and inability to move several seconds after waking up.

It's the best that you go to the doctor to check your state as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, you should go to bed at regular time, get nap throughout the day and avoid any stimulants. Just stick with the daily routine and maybe that will decrease symptoms.

I wish you luck with doctor's exam!
