Hi all. Not sure if this will help everyone but it may be beneficial to some. Look up Proctalgia fugax. The explanation was almost exactly the symptoms I and a lot of others on here I think, have been suffering with. Hope it helps a bit.

Hi. Could anyone please help me with my problem because no meter what I do, it is present almost all the time. I'm 34 year old female and I would like to find out more about this.
About two weeks ago I started to feel this strange rectal pressure.
I don’t know what is causing it but the sensation is very similar to one just before bowel movement. But the thing that’s confusing me is that my bowel is empty and still I have this feeling.
Please tell me what should I do? I have even tried with some anti-constipation medications but nothing could help me.
I'm pretty desperate!

Hi, I started to have my tailbone pain together with anus pressure last Thursday. Whenever I lean my body up and down, I feel pain around my tailbone. As for my anus pressure, I always feel to have bowel movement even though I have already empty my bowel. Few days ago before I started to have pain on Thursday, I had some strange bowel movement eg. cramp pain in my lower and upper abdomen and a strong feeling to empty bowel in my rectum during midnight. Finally, nothing was out of my anus. Could you tell me what are my problem ?

Hi does anyone get a burning sensation that accompanies these pains?

My Mum has suffered with this problem for over 5 years. Different doctors give different opinions as to what it may be!

I have a problem with almost constant bloating and gas and feeling as though I need to go but I cant. My bowel movements are never "normal" either diahrrea or plain out constipation. when I do have a bowel movement that is somewhat normal I have a very sharp pain with a good amount of blood and the movement is almost always very thin. I am thinking these may be signs of colon cancer? I am only 23 years old, I have been dealing with this since I turned about 21....

I'm amazed that so many people suffer like I do with constant and relentless rectal pressure! Help! What is it?
I have had Blood Tests, Flexi Sig, Ultrasound and having a Colonoscopy next week; all tests have come back normal… very strange as I know what normal is and this isn’t normal…
Any advice or guidance please feel free to reply, as I’m losing the will with this problem!

NO ONE is alone in this problem. I have fought this for two years. So far pain management is the only option we may have. I have been on Percocet which helps take the edge off. But, then, your labeled as a addict. Right. I take pain meds because I really want to live like that.

Its been almost 5 months now that i feel the constant pressure in my rectum, weight loss and body pains . I have visited several doctors and had their own different diagnosis ( hemmoroids, ibs, proctitis, proctatitis and lately its muscular pain). Done several blood test, urine test, ultrasound, and anoscopy, and colonoscopy but all test went out to be normal. Now I'm planning for CT scan and hope that nothing serious would be found.

Does anyone from the guys who posted before found anything? What happened to you guys out there.... please update us.

I have read all the threads with interest as I am also a recent sufferer of rectal discomfort. It's terrible and a real distraction throughout the day.

The feeling starts first thing in the morning and I visit the loo five or six times during the morning passing a few small stools at a time but obviously not a complete bowel empty. If I am not actually on the loo I have the sensation of wanting to be which is wasting so much of my day.

Has anyone had this particular problem of frequent visits to the loo and passing small quantities only to get up and after a few minutes feel they still wish to go again ?

Thank you anyone for your help

Please please please, go see your doctor! Although it could be something very minor, it could also be something very serious! I know! I experienced this for quite some time, and had some abdominal pain as well. It turned out that I had rectal (colon ) cancer. I had a tumor the size of a grapefruit! ( which definitely explained the pressure!)

Try to do some exercises for your pelvic area. Lie on your back and pull upwards. Walking helps too and stretching besides a diet that includes a lot of vegetables and milk. Put your legs up and let the blood flow back to your upper body.

I know what you are talking about, 2 years ago I had the same thing. I felt like I was always in a grey mood. My end result was vaginal hysterectomy my uterus and bladder both had dropped and so did my rectum. The doctor fix everything it took 6 months to be completely better. What a difference.
