One last thing I failed to mention...I feel like I want to give up and sometimes I feel like I'm useless to everyone in my family. I don't know what to think or do anymore. But again if anyone is out there has any suggestions or can help me because it feels as though my life is over ( what I mean by that is I don't feel like if I can do anything enjoyable any longer or be a mother to my kids or a grandmother to my granddaughter or a wife) I pray for all of us that are going through this or something similar. And we will all get help so we can go on with our lives. God Bless U All and Good Luck!!

I have had rectal pressure on and off for a few years now, and I think I finally found the solution, so there is hope, read on. Initially, when I first experienced discomfort and pressure about 3 years ago, I went to a proctologist, he said it was due to small internal hemorrhoids. I got laser treatments and after a few treatments, it went away, however, every 3-6 months my problem kept coming back. I would then have to go back to the proctologist for more treatments. About 6 months ago, I had to see the proctologist again, this time, he said there were no hemorrhoid, but he saw lots of mucus and he thought I have spastic colon (another name for IBS). He gave me some medication which did not help. All my life I have had mild form of IBS, lose stool and occasional diarrhea. I usually have 2-3 bowl movements each day, which lately has caused skin irritation and itching in the anus area due to cleaning and rubbing.

Next I went to an allergy specialist, she run all the tests and could not find anything. As I was researching the subject on the web, I cam across this posting, I also saw another posting, and someone recommended biofeedback. I started Googling biofeedback and found a psychologist in Dallas who specialized in it. I made an appointment and saw her 4 times the first week. I noticed the tool she uses is made by an organization called HeartMath which is a non-profit organization in California. I ordered the emWave2 and started using it on my laptop twice per day for 15-20 minutes. I also order some of their books on anxiety and stress and started reading them. Anxiety is something I have been fighting on and off for 15 years.

It has been 3 weeks now, and I can see a big difference. I no longer have diarrhea and now, I go 1 time per day, and pressure has been reduced significantly. I think my problem was mostly related to my nervous system and with Biofeedback; I am able to calm the nervous system and my digestive track. I am great full for finding this tool. For those who do not want to spend the money to buy the emWave2, they have a lot of paid and free literature on the subject on their web site you could try first. I hope this help and good luck.

1. go see a doctor, don't get advice from people who are guessing. It could be IBS, Cancer, Polyps, Crones disease, twisted bowel, worms or all of these.
2. GO SEE A DOCTOR

For everyone who is having this type of rectal pain and pressure, years ago my husband had this problem and the only thing that helped at all was sitting in a small amount of warm water in the bathtub. HOWEVER, after barium testing, etc. and doctors had no answers, my mother suggested that he try taking FLAXSEED MEAL in PAPAYA JUICE and also to take B6 (about 100 mg 3 times a day) and the mixture a couple times a day. CLEARED UP ALL SYMPTOMS within days when he had gone on for months in dire pain. So, you might want to try this.

I too have  had constant rectal pressure for about a week now.  Everytime I eat I almost immediately feel the pressure.  Assuming I have to make a BM I go to the restroom and nothing happens.  I too am expelling a light discharge from my rectum.  I also feel light headed from the pressure on occasion too.  Does anyone else have some pain in their tail bone too?  Don't know what to do.  Doctor says I just need an laxative but the pressure remains.  HELP!

Yes I have pain in my tailbone too.  The thing is the doctors only want to treat you for constipation and that is not the answer.

Hi there I can relate. I had the same problem and eventually went to the doctor.  He diagnosed me with stress induces IBS. My doctor prescribed Librax which works wonders and even takes the pressure away. I also find that as soon as I drink coffee it gets worse. So try Librax and stay away from coffee.

I used to have that same pressure/urge to go. Never had an issue before my hysterectomy.  I went through biofeedback, which is pelvic floor physical therapy as well as visceral therapy.  Turns out my pubo rectalis muscle was in spasm, not letting stool into the rectum.  Sure, I had the urge to go, but nothing would happen.  I experimented with many things.  Currently, and what IS ACTUALLY working- 3 fiber gummies with a bottle of water after dinner, 4 Magnesium citrate supplements, about 800 mgs and a new thing I swear by... the Squatty Potty.  After reading reviews on Amazon I decided to give it a try.  It really does work, after you get over the initial period of feeling silly on it.    Before I would have to strain and strain, and usually produce nothing.  Now I don't even notice!  It's really been a life saver.  I'd also like to say a big fu to the GI doc who told me long term use of laxatives is safe and non-addicting.  She also told me I had IBS and a few other things.  If anyone is having issues, spend the $40, try it.  If it doesn't help after the first week, try the fiber.  BTW, that is the only fiber that doesn't make me bloated and sick.  Then the magnesium.  This one naturally relaxes the smooth muscles helping ease things along.

Good luck all XD
