I'm really sorry about that. Could it be acid reflex disease? Is it Crohns Disease? My aunt has that and so does a close family friend. It sounds like it could be. I would get tested for both of those and stop doing the whole diet thing. I do not want to scare you but could it be some kind of cancer?

Hi. I had typed a big long explaination, but it did not go through before. I will make this shorter. I'm almost willing to stake my life on the fact that you have Celiac Disease. I was just diagnosed with it, but have had symptoms for a while. I could have written your post. It is hard to find doctors who know enough about Celiac Disease to diagnose you. It is a disease that doctors are just now learning about in this country. Definitely find a good GI specialist who has experience with Celiac Disease. I also felt sick when I ate anything. My doctor explains that I have become intolerant of so many foods...because the damage to my small intestines has caused me to stop producing enzymes to digest food. All of that undigested food just sits in your intestines and the bacteria from your large intestine go crazy on it. That produces the bloating, gas and pain. A lot of celiacs have diahrrea though...and some have normal bowel movements. Celiac Disease is caused by gluten ingestion. The first thing to go is also lactose. Many celiacs seem to have problems with soy too...and soy is in all kinds of gluten free foods. You have to be very careful and do a lot of research about where gluten is found, where hidden gluten is and how not to cross-contaminate yourself. I had to start calling all manufacturers to see if products contained gluten, or could be contaminated. It is always surprising what is NOT on the label. Many celiacs are intolerant of many foods, but over time and healing...some of those foods should come back to you. You need to have a full celiac blood panel done which tests for antibodies. Make sure that they also do "gliadin". They will want to do a scope on you, and do a biopsy of your small intestine. I would have them do an upper and lower GI scope to rule out any other possibility...like Chrohn's disease (my 17 yr old step-daughter has it) and cancer. You may actually have a negative biopsy, because they only biopsy an area of the small intestine coming out of the stomach. You could be fine there, but still have full-blown celiac disease in other parts of your intestine. My biopsy was negative. I was diagnosed based on my symptoms and a genetic test that showed "very high" risk. I had already gotten off of gluten before my test because I had suspected having celiac disease from doing my research (no doctor was able to tell me anything). They recommend that you don't change your diet, so that the tests will give accurate results, but I just had to get off of gluten...I had to feel better...and couldn't take it anymore. It worked for me, and I don't care about the tests...I know that I can't have gluten. You will also be more sensitive to chemicals like nitrates and food dyes. I shop at Whole Foods to buy mostly organic everything. If you have CD...it is a complete life change, and you will have to work hard to keep yourself healthy by learning what is in absolutely EVERYTHING!. It sucks, but it's better than the alternative. I've cried and been angry when everyone is eating whatever they want, but you'll get used to it too. I would recommend HIGHLY that you join ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed for free. Starting reading topics under the forum, and start asking questions. That is how I figured out that I had it before my doctor did. I don't know if you have kids, but it is a genetic disease...so just be aware. Irish descendants have the highest rate...along with other northern european ancestery. I would also recommend a book "G Free Diet" by Elizabeth Hasselbeck from The View. It's very informative, though she doesn't have a problem with other foods. I also heard the bood "Cereal Killers" is good, but have not picked that up yet. Beware of medications and over-the-counter medications. They might have gluten, milk or soy in them. I had to call all of my manufacturers to know for sure. You can by supplements free of all of that at health food stores. Spices often contain gluten as anti-clumping agents, and if they don't...they are all susceptible to cross-contamination. There isn't a grocery store brand or whole foods brand that can say that they are gluten free...I called. Penzey's spices is okay on most though. They have their own retail stores or online shopping. Rice milk...STAY AWAY. I was sick from it. They often process rice milk from barley, so most of us react to it. Use Almond or coconut milk. Say goodbye to starbucks:( You can invest in your own latte maker and put your own ingredients in it. However, a lot of celiacs can't tolerate caffeine or alcohol. That is something that you'll have to work through. I think that I'm also intolerant of sulfites, so there goes wine, grapes and balsamic vinegar. Stay away from vingers too. Apple cider vinegar and balsamic are safe. Wine is processed with milk a good deal of the time. I verified this with some manufacturers. Restaurants will be a problem for you, but there are restaurants with gluten-free menus. You just have to hope that they don't cross-contaminate you. If you are intolerant of soy and milk...it will be harder to order, but ask the chef what is safe. Oh, a lot of celiacs are also deficient in vitamins and minerals. The most common is Vit D, B12, Iron, Iron stores (ferritin)...and some others. Calcium is a concern if you can no longer drink milk. A lot of celiacs also have autoimmune thyroid problems and reflux. I hope that this helps:)

I went back to read your post. It had been several days, since I read it. I didn't know that you are only 15...sorry. Okay, I would still say that you are doing a great job trying to figure your issues out by asking and doing some research. I still say that celiac disease is a concern for you. Have they tested your vitamin levels? Also, your specialist will likely NOT see celiac disease with a scope. Did they do a biopsy? If they didn't, well...that could have been helpful. If they did...it can be a false negative for the reasons that I gave. Do any of your family members have constipation or fatigue issues? Thyroid is a big problem for that. It has taken me almost 5 years to get it to stay in the normal range. Make sure that you have been tested for TSH, T3 and T4. They will all play a role. I did read that your thyroid can be "off" long before it actually shows up in the blood work. Keep that in mind. Your TSH would be best to stay around 1.2-2...even though the "normal" range is wider than that. Depression is also a symptom of celiac disease...along with many others. Don't let them talk "down" to you because you're a kid. YOU KNOW when you are not feeling right, and you know your body better than anyone. Stick with it...you will eventually find an answer. If you have doctors that don't take you seriously, then you should urge your parents to get you a new one...and another new one if necessary. Maybe someone from ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed lives in your area, and can suggest a good doctor and GI specialist. Doctors seem to resort to "well it's psychological" if they can't actually find anything wrong. That just means that they have reached their limit of knowledge, and you need to find someone who knows more....or find it yourself.

Hi. I wrote about the celiac disease earlier, because some of you definitely have those symptoms...like me. To the person who just wrote...13 yr old. My 17 yr old step-daughter has Crohn's Disease. She vomits after eating constantly. She also has diahrrea constantly. She suffers from anxiety, shortness of breath and some neuromuscular weakness at times, and joint pain. I don't know how mild or severe her symptoms were when the disease was first triggered though. Her younger sister was diagnosed at about 5 yrs old with Crohn's. I think that she was constipated. Puking after eating is NOT normal, and I would insist that your parents take you to a pediatrician and GI doctor....or maybe see if you can make it there on your own somehow. Again, just because you are a kid doesn't mean that you don't know how your body feels. If you are taking the time to research on the computer, then you NOT making it up for any reason. Start researching Chrohn's disease. My step-daughters school said that Crohn's is actually very common among the students...referring to her having to miss school because she feels so bad. They were very understanding. I really hope that you can figure this out. You don't need to be worrying so much at your age:(

I think people that are finding no answers from the medical field should try to eat only organic foods. the reason I say athis is because so many foods are genetically engineered with genes from other plants, for example vegetables and fruits have the peanut gene introduced into them to create larger fruits and vegetables, I know this was done to the tomato and orange. The point is eat organic to eliminate any allergies you may have to the added genetic material. Also eat just a few choices for set length of time to do a process of elimination. Try a week of no dairy products and just 3-4 different foods. I can't hurt if you monitor what you eat and drink to isolate the culprit. I'm a mom and science teacher but nothing more than that.

I have had alot of the same issues from thinking it was anxiety, in my head, and add, and food allergies, celiac etc......I am 42 and this was going on with me for as long back as I can remember. This last year I stumbled on two things that helped. The first was juice fasting. I know it sounds extreme but it really works. Ar first of course you feel terrible but as the days go by your body does begin to heal. I did a juice fast for just over a week and I felt so great that I had no problems for several months. If you've never fasted before it can be hard but your body does get a lot of nutrients from the vegetable and fruits you juice. I would begin with vegetables and add a fruit in here and their to make sure it doesn't bother you. Afterwords follow it up with a modified atkins that focuses on fish and shell fish and vegetables. Atkins has no flour, bread, rice, sugar, and fruit. You can ad some fruits that you felt were okay when you were fasting and don't forget the fat (avacado and oil: I like grapeola) and keep it as simple, not processed, and cooked as little as you can and still eat it. I know it seems like a lot but I promise, you will feel better, begin to like the food, and you can move on to all the things someone of your age should be doing along with spending a little time in whole foods (one of the only places you can pick up a quick lunch like this).

My question is are you addicted to anything which has its aftermath now. In such a case such symptoms are usual, but as it continuant effect is not good. In such a case why dont you try some detox plans. You would definitely sort your problem if you join any of the health retreat centers. the most renowned or basically which i personally want to recommend would be Fresh Start Health Retreat Center at Vancouver. Even if you have such symptoms it would benefit you a lot. These guys have many detox plans available with them which will help you out to overcome your symptoms. Contact them @ ( 888-658-3324) & all the best friend. Moreover, in the initial days you would definitely have some side effects but it would vanish with time...:-)

Have you heard of the Gerson Diet? I want to try it, but have a husband that only eats junk food and a low budget. So it's one way or the other, which means his way. But I've heard of so many good things coming from it since it is a diet chock full of vitamins and nothing hard. Basically it's this: lots and lots of carrot juice, fruits and veggies, No animal fat whatsoever, which means no meat. Lots of protein from nuts, veggies, (beans aren't on the list for some reason), fish, and coffee enemas to get rid of the bad stuff. It seems to me to be the sort of diet we as humans were meant to eat. But with the media and food programs the way they are today (sort of like drug companies) we only hear "you need to eat right." But what is eating right? "Restrict caloric intake. Don't eat Junk food." Okay... but that tells me nothing. Eating right means eating foods that make you feel good, nutritious and natural. They can say all they want: eat a balanced meal. But they have junk foods on the food pyramid. They say that is part of balance. To me, it's not. While the variety is great, and taste is great, it's making every one so very sick. For instance: cows for slaughter are fed a high corn diet. This fattens them up faster. It's also cheaper. But they get high acidic levels in their bellies from the corn, and if it's let go long enough it kills the cow. So they learned to slaughter them just before the ulcers kill them. Isn't that horrible? But what's worse, is have you seen how much corn is in the human diet? It's in every thing we eat. High fructose corn syrup, gluten, etc. That's all corn. And we wonder why we have ulcers and bad problems with acid stomachs. To get away from all of that may help you. I realize I sound like a conspiracy theorist, or a hippy lol, but I'm not. I was just going along eating what sounded good, then one day my mom and I got together and decided to write a science fiction book about the world going haywire because of diet. Little did we know that when we dipped our toes into the water of knowledge just sitting there all around us (google, documentaries, books, news articles) that it's all there in print for us to see but rarely do any of us see it. And those that do and choose to change their diets are looked at as health nuts. The word nut or fanatic makes them sound like they're going over board with their decision. But, are they really?
Food for thought... :)
