Hi. I’ve recently had an apicoectomy on 2 front teeth. The infection was up into my cheek and face. Later it spread all the way behind my nose. After the apicoectomy I felt fine for a while but both the pain and infection is back. What should I do?

You’re right - an apendectomy is the surgical removal of an inflamed or infected appendix. Like any other surgery it has certain amount of risk included but I think that this specific procedure is quite common. Also, most of surgeons do know their job and they will do everything in their power to help you the best they can. So, don’t be too afraid – I’m sure everything will be just fine. Don’t forget to write us back after you’ve finished with it!! Good luck!!!

Hi, may I ask how things are going? I am wondering if pushing for an apicoectomy will solve my recent root canal problems, but like you I have a wide infection area. My dentist says it's too big to have an apicoectomy and that if the pain doesn't stop, the next step is only extraction....
