Hello,
Kidney removal is big and very serious surgery - the surgeon needs to cut through several layer of skin, muscle and fat, so it's no wonder it takes even up to a six months or a year for this type of surgical wound to completely heal. Of course, you'll start feeling much better sooner than this, but when it comes to abdominal surgeries, the pins and needles sensation, as well as partial or complete loss of sensation in the area and surrounding skin where the surgery was performed is very common - it happens to women after C-section or abdominal hysterectomy, but after the pain subsides, numbness alone is not really considered to be a big issue, it's more of a surgery side effect,
Wish you a speedy recovery,
Nicole
