I am a large hypochondriac going through a current bout of anxiety. Somehow, when I was little, I developed a phobia of appendicitis that pops up from time to time, and it is really raging right now. I had the navel pain starting about 24 hours ago and it has not really spread to the right but has more just hung around the center, at some points it is more consistent than others, and it has not seemed to have gotten worse. I've been having some queasiness all day but that can happen as a result of anxiety as well. Can anyone calm my appendicitis fears? It would be deeply appreciated.
How about I try a different tack? Instead--let's say that you DO have appendicitis? Don't you think that you'd feel intense pain and that the doctors would be able to treat it? I know that anxiety can make you feel pain. After breathing in and out for a few breaths, do you still feel an intense pain? If you don't, I bet it's anxiety and not appendicitis. Can you tell me how you're doing?
