dear dr. HELP i got the contraceptive pill shot (depro vera) and about a week into it i started bleeding (heavy) and havnt stopped and that was bout 4 to 5 months ago??? how can i stop it should i see my docter again cos last time she said wait untill the shot finishes and it will stop! but hasnt?? does any one know if i can fall pregnant while this is happening?

Why this is happening to you... You and I have the same problem with the hormone in depo. It thins the uterine lining out so much that it causes us to have a constant bleeding pattern, while most women will lose their period alltogether.
REGULAR birth control pills are often given to stop the bleeding. Definately see your doc =)

I have been bleeding for 5 months, I have also went to 3 specialist and don't even know how many doctors all they cann tell me is that QUOTE"I don't know why you are bleeding that much" I to took the Depo shot only once and that was 13 years ago.. I have been dealing with this for 13 years and no one can tell me why.. I have went on birth control pills and other stuff to make it stop it worked for about a month then back to it same routine... I am 30 years old and I want another child but this is making me seriously think about a historectamy....
