I am 44 and have a 20 years old daughter. We both suffer from some similar problems with sleeping problems, fatigue, anxiety, depression...and so on.. Its sad but today those problems can affect anyone at any age. Young people suffer as well and I fell sorry for them. Its too much pressure, to look a certain way, to get good grades, to find the first job, to fit. My advice is, try to find websites that help with relaxation before sleep. Some of them do actually help. I tried and worked some. Try to eat healthy and exercise. I know that when you just want to sleep your life away is very difficult to get up and go exercise. But you not going to believe how much your life improves. Maybe you are not going to get cured but is better than to be frustrated all the time because you don't know what to do. Go to you doctor, explain what you are feeling, don't be scared. Theres more people suffering with the anxieties of modern life than you think. You are not alone. Don't suffer in silence, read, talk, discuss with friends. My cure may not be your cure, but yours is just around the corner, keep looking. Hope it helps.
please tell me if you found an answer, exact same age and diagnosis as the 18 [now 19] year old up there with adhd depression anxiety and with everything, i do have hoshimoto thyroidism ive been diagnosed since sixth grade but levels are where they need to be full blood work panal turned out perfect sleep study showed nothing my depression i know is coming from the sleeping i know it is not the cause of my sleeping but my doctor is just leaving me at a dead end and im honestly wondering how much longer i can do this! i am glad i am not alone tho!
Have any of you ever tried cutting out Gluten? Your posts are old but at least someone googling this will see my message. I have spent the last 20 years feeling just like you and have also been getting sick a lot. Then, one week ago I quit eating anything with Gluten in and I have totally transformed. A lot of people like you have done the same as me and are totally changed. I recommend trying to cut it out and see what happens. It is worth a try.
puberty can take a lot out of a person. i started getting tired around 16, i'm 28 and still tired. now i have twin 2 yr olds to chase around, which keeps me even more tired. i just try and keep up by not drinking too much caffiene and daily exercise. not too many fatty foods, but you don't need to eat like a bird either. the key to life is balance
I think you should always listen to your gut feelings! Try a naturopath. I believe there are natural remedies out there. I think our doctors are misled by the big pharma company that runs our country. We are all cash cows. They want us on as many meds as possible.
Hey there! I have the same problem.. i am 29 and i am sooo tired all the time...regardelss of how much sleep i get. I wish i had some advice for you. . I was just wondering if you found anything out about this?
im only 15 and ever since i remember, i've been tired.also, i've had problems sleeping and i only get about 4 hours of sleep a night.
sounds a lot like idiopathic hypersomnia
also some similiar features to narcolepsy
you need to see a sleep specialist. the family doctor can only do so much. and I doubt depression is the cause; here it's the effect. you sound like you have some of the features of narcolepsy, the vivid dreams etc.
If you're 18 and still seeing your pediatrician, its time to find another doctor.
You may have obstructive sleep apnoea. Do you snore? Get a sleep test done as you may be waking up hundreds of times a night and not know it... I didn't believe it until a friend video taped me. Now I have a machine and my energy levels are much better.
Have you had your iron checked? VERY important at your age. I was the same.
^sorry, that was in response to the 16 year old. Good for anyone else tho if you haven't considered it already
It sounds like you have anxiety that amplify at night and allergies during the day. Stress will cause anxiety and comes 20 gold when we settle down to rest that's when our minds go over the days activities.
