when i drank from my bottle i tasted a bad taste and i remembered too late that my mum had sprayed a fly around where my bottle was in my bag with the top hanging out, exposed
it doesn't say anything other than to contact the poisons line if poisoning occurs
is there anything i can do to stop it?
it was probably a small amount so should i be worried???
please help!!
It probably was, like you said, just the small amount of fly spray that might have gotten stuck on the top of the bottle. Even that amount hardly had the chance to actually get into contact with the water inside and if you realized what happened soon after the first sip, you probably wiped your lips, so I don't think there really is much chance for some kind of severe poisoning. But, the most important thing is - do you feel any kind of symptoms?

it happened like an hour ago and there was some slight burning in the throat and i felt sick for a bit
there's still a slight burning feeling in my throat but other than that i'm feeling fine now
i've got a headache but it's probably just a natural one
so i guess it really doesn't matter then, huh?

Well, burning in your throat could be a sign - you definitely should call the number provided in case poisoning happens. They wont tell you much but to see a doctor if it gets worse or to try to rinse your throat as much as you can, but - it definitely is not something that doesn't matter. Please, let me know what happened.

just called the poisons center and the guy said that they were normal symptoms and he wasn't too worried because they were small and it was a small amount i would have ingested
he advised drinking some milk but because i can't drink milk i had water instead
he said that any symptoms should pass within the next 24 hours and that only if i started vomiting and doing it a lot should i need urgent medical attention
i've still got a headache, slight burn in the throat still and i felt a little nauseas before but it's gone now (the nausea that is)
two hours in counting... or there abouts
should i still be worried?

I think you will be ok, the amount of fly spray was very small in the first place and if the poisoning was more severe you would definitely get nauseousness within minutes, together with vomiting and body aches. But here is a reason why the guy said milk - milk is much better in dissolving substances like these than the water, but if you can't drink it, water will do the job - it's only important to dilute the stuff. There definitely couldn't have been much of that stuff there anyways and you are pretty much ok so far.

You're welcome! But there are always things we can't control, so... take care!
