I just had to reread your original post! 1st a chemical miscarriage is a nicer way of saying that you had a chemical abortion - which I take it was NOT the case as we had talked about your pregnancy 2nd Was your period the same amount of time in length 3. Have you taken a pregnancy test? Remember one thing - we can be just fine for years then ALL of a sudden all these wonky things start happening, then they are gone. Whenever you feels sick or "strange" go see your doctor. Also are you taking prenatal vitamins right now?

My periods are usually 3-4 days. This time it was 8 days!! That NEVER happens.
I took a urine pregnancy test at the Doctor today. (negative) She said it looked like water so she sent me down to the labs to do a blood test. Now she wants to do a cervical biopsy. :( I have no idea what is wrong with me.

PLEASE tell me she did a pap test today? Also is this the first month your period was wonky? Have you had delays or it coming earlier - especially in the last 6 months! There must be a reason why she want to do a cervical biopsy - what did she say?

She did do a pap but said that she won't get the results back for 3 weeks. She decided to do the biopsy BEFORE even doing the pap. She said because of my age. (40) I told her that I am VERY regular and this was the first month I've ever had irregular bleeding. I'm very anxious. I sent her en email yesterday asking her if we could postpone the biopsy until getting the pap results back or if it was time sensitive.

Thanks for letting me ask you lots of questions, I really appreciate the support.

Her reply was that it is an endometrial biopsy not a cervical biopsy. But still, wondering if I should hold off.

First know that I am NOT a doctor, but I don't think this is an emergency kind of thing! You are 40 and in pre-menopause, of course your periods get wonky. Ask her IF it's critical to get the endometrial lining biopsy done before getting the pap test results back. The reason why I would personally like this to happen after is that is not just an easy test. There is freezing, discharge and pain (not eye crossing but still) And why poke the bear, if there is no reason to poke it?! I always tell people to go with the easiest answer first - I personally believe you are in pre-menopause, I would also like her to test your hormone levels - as these are a HUGE indicator of what "stage" you are in with the "change" please know you can still get pregnant at this time, it is just harder to do so that is all - as most women start having wonky periods. Also with this possibility of you being pregnant, have you and your bf decided if you are going to try? Because IF you will be, your gyno needs to know this. As if she goes ahead with the endometrial biopsy, you can not have unprotected sex (actually any sex) for I think about 6 weeks after. She needs to know your wants, and work around those. I'm not questioning her at all, its just I don't want you to go through the biopsy when there was ZERO need to, plus it hindering you trying to get pregnant.

hey bambi it seems to be that you are the "pregnancy queen" maybe you can give me some insight on my situation! I'm not sure if I'm making my pregnancy symptoms up in my head or not. I have very regular periods- down to the minute. Until last month. I ovulated 12/9-12/14 and had unprotected sex 7th,8th, 10th, 12th, and 13th I only had my period on the 29th very light then spotting on 30th-1st of january. january I would have ovulated 10th-15th and we had sex 11th-15th and again on the 19th. Ive had mild cramps off and on all this month, I got my period a few days early and again it was really just one day and spotting the next three. My periods are usually really heavy and at LEAST 5 entire days. My nipples have been extremely sensitive, I wouldn't say painful I think because I have a high tolerance for pain so they've been sensitive. but what I noticed today was large very visible blue veins around my hips, ribs, some on my stomach, and some on my boobs... isn't that a sign of pregnancy? I mean i may be over reacting about all the other stuff but I don't think my vision is that bad to just make up blue veins?! I want a baby pretty bad so I'm thinking every single thing could mean I'm pregnant so that's why I'm looking for some straight forward advice / experiences. thanks in advance :) p.s I have NOT tested yet because my boyfriend has been home for the past few weeks from work and we're together ALL the time which I LOVE but i don't want him to know i'm testing or thinking I'm pregnant so I haven't taken a test yet...do you think it would be accurate if I test in the middle of the day while i'm at work or I should wait and sneak in the morning sometime?

Flattery will get you everywhere!!! LOL With your ovulation dates are these from tests, or the 14 day mark before your next period? Could you give me the dates of your periods for the last 3 months? Those are quite long ovulation times - as it is more so about 3 days - 1 day earlier, the 14th day, the day after. Your symptoms are DEFINITELY signs of pregnancy, but also can be from PMS! For now - till I get your period dates back - I would say that you just might have a winner here! I would put the 11th one (if the 10th is 14 days before your next period), so I tell women to wait a good 21 days after possible conception, which puts you at Feb 1st! Take in the morning - your HCG levels are more concentrated and thus being more correct. Less chances of false positives or negatives. In the mean time, start taking prenatal vitamins - these help with the growth of the fetus. IF you are not pregnant, if both you and he take these prenatal's they have shown to DRAMATICALLY increase both of your fertility's! NO smoking, NO drinking, NO drugs, just be as healthy as possible! Please let me know how you make out? good luck honey! fingers crossed!

hello bambi27! i need your help.

im 21 and i had my last period on the first week of December 2012 but I did not have my period on the month of November 2012. And Im really worried cause I still didnt get my period this January 2013. I already had HPT thrice, it was negative. We had protected sex for a couple of times but sometimes he puts it on without the condom but I'm afraid if there is precum. Sometimes I experience symptoms like I urinate a lot, get too sleepy.. but maybe its psychological. Anyways, I need your thoughts. please do reply. thanks!

First your partner NEEDS to know that he nor anyone else can say for certainty if his precum has sperm in it - thus THOUSANDS of people being surprised about their pregnancies. ALL it takes is 1 sperm. Due to the fact that your periods seem to be wonky - November nothing, December yest, January nothing, I would say you need to see your doctor - to have a vaginal ultrasound - to find out if you have ovarian cysts (by the way ovarian cysts can cause virtually the EXACT same symptoms as pregnancy can).. You are right about psychological - it is calld "Hysterical pregnancy" that doesn't mean you have that though! Since the tests are negative, I think you should be seen by a gynecologist to determine what is going on with you - don't worry there are MANY options available if you do have the cysts! Please let me know how you make out OK? Good luck honey!

Ohh thank you so much for replying bambi27!!! I didnt expect to get a reply from you. Lol. was supposed to send you a PM but Im new here so still not familiar with the site..

Anyways, I took oral contraceptive pills last year about June-August and I usually had regular menstrual cycles then I stopped out of fear of breast cancer cause they said it would put me to risk. Do you think I am pregnant? Im really scared. I dont want to get pregnant yet, Im a graduating student and we have a very strict culture. Writing this message makes me want to urinate.. ugh. Ive been urinating a lot though.. and stomach is really flabby and I gained weight :(

Actually - due to the urination - you might just have a severe UTI - urinary tract infection! Your question - of being pregnant - can only be answered if I know what days you had the unprotected sex? How logn have you been irregular - with your periods? Have you any of the following 1. Gained weight, 2. dry skin 3. tired, 4. wonky periods - which we know 5. thining hair, 6.enlarged neck? I just started thinking about your thyroid actually - as this can also have the same symptoms! Let me know the exact days of your periods, and also the dates of unprotected sex - the no condom!

Hi I need some help/advice on my situation with my girlfriend. She had her period twice in December not too sure about the dates, but she took plan B's twice after having unprotected sex(stupid choice) but she has been cramping a couple of days really bad, but she hasn't gotten any signs of getting her period. She discharged heavily about one day ago on the 29th. She started excercising heavily on Thursday, Friday and back again on Monday till this day. Is it possible she could be pregnant? We did have unprotected sex from then till about 3 days ago. About 1-2 a week. Is her period all wonky because of the two periods/plan B's/ and excercising? Please get back to me.

Did she take Plan B after all of the unprotected sex? that is a HELL of a LOT of hormones to put in her body! IT's called emergency contraception for a reason. its not meant to be taken 1 or 2 times a week! IF this is the case, that will be the reason why she is all wonky, one day of exercising doesn't change it. Can I ask why you keep on having unprotected sex - as you say stupid choice - but have done it time and time again? I can't tell you with any certainty if she is or isn't, all I know is that obviously this has messed her up - I'm concerned about what this concentration of hormones has done to her body! So PLEASE do NOT do this to her again. She needs a break from this hormone - obviously, hopefully her period will regulate itself. She obviously needs to go on the pill and you DEFINITELY need to wear a condom! You both need to know that the pill and Plan B are 99% effective, so wearing a condom wills top the 1% chance - it's as close to 100% coverage that you can get. As far as your inquiry goes, it's a wait and see game. IF this pain becomes VERY intense, she needs to see a doctor - preferably a gynecologist - and the amount of Plan B's she took HAS to be mentioned to him/her. You both are responsible for each others sexual health. What you are doing is playing with fire, and she could end up being VERY hurt by all of this. As I said, it is NOT made to be used so frequently. sorry for the sermon, but this is quite destressing. Let her body get back to a natural rythym! I can't even tell you when to possibly take a HPT as it's so all over the place. Just hope her period does come on - this will show that everything is back to normal! RESPECT each other! OK?

She didn't take plan b after all the unprotected sex, I didn't want her to anymore due to her having her period twice because of the plan B. She excercised about 5 days intensely. She is also stressed out. Protection will be used from now on, I promise. She isn't in pain, she had cramps thinking she was gonna start her period, then stopped after two days of cramping. (Cramping was sometime last week around the 26th-28th) does it seem like she might be pregnant? Or her hormones might be what's causing her crazy period? I probably won't be able to have kids anyway, I've tried before and finished in the girl several times but she still got her period. And now that girl is pregnant. Any input? By the way "girl" is a different girl, not my girlfriend.
