I am 24 years n have a habits of eating slate pencil since 8 years n consuming 1 box in day or 2 till now I have never faced any problem want a suggestion what should I do to stop it as it will create a lots of issue for me in my future whether I should do sonography to check whether stone is been created in my stomach please suggest

My issue is similar to yours except I crave chalk and soap. I like bite pieces of Irish spring and coast. I also like to store my white chalks in a bag w/those soaps so they absorb the taste and smell. When the chalk is gone I eat the soap. I dunno if I'm low on iron or if it's stress related (I find the soap/chalk relaxing) but I'd like to quit.

I eat white clay dirt that comes in chunks and gain washing powder. Sometimes what I'll do is blitz the clay in my food processor and mix with the detergent to eat spoonfuls of the mixture. I never swallow it, just chew the mixture for the flavor and texture. I need to figure out a way to stop b/c I'm worried about this does to my health.

Hello,

Eating white clay dirt or washing powder can be dangerous to your health. Both substances contain chemicals that can harm your body when ingested. Ingesting clay dirt can lead to a condition called geophagy, which can cause gastrointestinal problems such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Additionally, washing powder contains chemicals that can be toxic and lead to serious health problems, such as organ damage.

Therefore, it's important to seek help to stop this behavior. One approach would be to talk to your doctor or a mental health professional about your concerns and get an evaluation to determine if there is an underlying condition contributing to this behavior. They can provide guidance on how to manage the behavior, address any nutritional deficiencies that may be contributing to the behavior, and provide resources for appropriate treatment.

You can also try finding healthier alternatives to satisfy your craving for texture and flavor. For example, you could try incorporating different textures and flavors into your meals, such as crunchy vegetables or flavorful spices. Additionally, you can explore other hobbies or activities to occupy your time and distract you from the behavior.
