Hello! I am Ben and I am twelve. I have suffered from asthma since I was five. I use my medicines regularly but they sometimes can’t help. I am sick of not being able to do all normal activities boys of my age usually do. I heard the lungs can be transplanted. If I have lung transplantation would I still suffer from asthma?
Hello dear Ben. Your idea is interesting but there few things you should know. Lung transplantation is only done in cases when the life is threatened; in severe diseases when lung tissue is completely destroyed. I understand asthma is not comfortable to live with especially if you are twelve but you are too young. In most cases symptoms of asthma decrease in late teens, so you can expect your condition significantly improve in a few years.
