I'm only 19 so I'm ruling out fybromyalga. My step mom and my mom and my sister have it and it's constant for them. But it's not always for me. But when I'm laying in bed and I can't have my boyfriend cuddle with me because it hurts, it gets depressing. I like him to rub my back, it doesn't hurt there, it helps me calm down, but when he rubs my arms or my legs it hurts so much. Not like a 10 on a scale of 1-10 or anything, but to the point it's very uncomfortable and I can't have him touching me. It's been going on for over a year now I didn't want to bring it up to my family because I don't want them thinking I just want attention cuz everyone else has it. :/ Any advice or ideas on what could be wrong?

There is no simple answer to your question, as there are no definite answers and facts about causes of fibromyalgia. Most importantly, for a pain that lasts more than three months and which affects the quality of life in such a measure you have described, you should seek professional help of rheumatologist. And, perhaps, you should try to look differently at situation regarding your family – the ones close to you, step mom, mom and sister, have all gone through similar condition before, their experiences should help you to go through the whole thing with less trouble. Support is crucial in situations like these, and if you don’t want to burden your family with this (and I think you should reconsider is it fair for you to think that your problem is not important as other people’s problems) maybe your boyfriend could be alongside you. How is he reacting when you need him to stop touching you because you’re in pain?

I agree with nikols. The best way to determine what it is, is to see a Rheumatologist. There is no test for Fibro, but they can rule out other disorders to give you a diagnosis. You have to have I believe 11 tender points

Thanks for the replies:)
I will get help once I get health insurance back. My boyfriend is one who thinks everything is in your head, he doesn't even believe in taking anything for anything except ibruprofen... %-) But, again, thanks for the answers back! Happy Thanksgiving!

the sensation you have, sounds like the lymph channels just under the skin swelled/over filled with lymph fluid.
you might also find enlarged lymph nodes under the arm pits and in the groin area.
you might have pain, maybe severe, under left rib cage where the spleen is.
your abdomine might hard to touch and painful.
by rubbing abdomin and polking/mashing on the pain point can help open up the drain.
