Hi,
I was diagnosed w/psoriasis 6 years ago. Tried UV therapy, lotions/creams with minimal effect and a lot of time consumption (applying twice daily including scalp). My dermatologist highly suggested Enbrel and even though I was hesitant I went for it. It completely eradicated my psoriasis, and 2 years after starting I cut myself pretty deep while remote float trip (sutures required but no hospital access). So I decided to lay off the Enbrel for a couple of weeks whist the wound healed. I noticed that I didn't have any flare ups during this time, so I mentioned this to my dermatologist and he told me to experiment with the frequency of the injections. Was completely off the Enbrel for almost 3 years with no flare ups (remission yaaay). About 3 months ago it started coming back so I scheduled an appointment and requested to go back on the Enbrel (same dermatologist). Now this dermatologist is trying to steer me away from the Enbrel but wouldn't give me a good reason other than "it increased the risk of cancer" (which has always been the case from my understanding). Any input would be appreciated.
