I had the same problem. Maddening scrotum itch on left side. Flakung and broken skin with rawness and some bleeding. I used an antifungal clotrimazole and betamethasone cream. After three years of agony the symptoms are completely gone. You need a prescription for the cream.

I have the same problem and have tried many different creams. One thing that does help is to take antihystimines to reduce the iching. You can take Loratidine and ranitidine which is in OTC heart burn medications. I helps for a while. Good luck.

im only 16 and this is happening im sort of worried at what it is and you guys so its been going on for years. The thought of having it for years pains me. has anyone been to the doctor and got an exact diagnoses of what is going on. i do not want to face the humiliation of going to a doctor for that

I have the same problem, but instead on my left. It seems to come when I lie down on it. At night it is unebearable. When you follow up with a moisturizer, which one do you use?

Thanks to all for their advice...I tried using athletes foot cream as I thought it was jock itch...didn't work...may have even made it worse...I recently tried 1% Cortizone cream & Gold Bond cream (alternated applications) and it is working...the raised, light patches have subsided and the itching is no longer present...the skin has returned to relative softness after being very wrinkly and leatherly.  It's been about a week now and no signs of further issues

We totally have the same symptoms!...basically on my whole "ball sack" for 2 years. The good news? Its called "lichen sclerosis" bith my doc and a dermatolgists said this immediately as soon as they saw it! Bad news...i have tried every kind of ointment out there! Including powerful cortisone creams ( but not religiously as they recommended). This disease apparently has no cure...keepz me up a few times each nite scrat hing and bleeding and basi ally ruins a large part of my day as the nut sack shrinls and expands based on temp and the s ars hurt like hell sometimes...harx to get in and out of. Are sometimes. Wish i had better news but at least you now k ow what it is! IF YOU DO find any cream that seems to rid the itch and pain PLEASE. let me know? Cheers and god bless! Trust me..look it up and mention it to your doc? Very rare in men..but...its there! Ken

Firstly, thanks to everybody who posted on this site. I've finally found what seems to cure it for me now. Been about 6 years or so on and off and to be honest I still don't know if it's eczema, a yeast infection, fungal infection or something else.

Came back to this site to help anyone who may come across it.

Basically the symptoms were the same. EXTREME itchiness at night, due to scratching it was almost bleeding at times, leathery skin. Pain almost 24/7. Itchy and pain when you sleep at night and because of the wounds, every-time you walk or sit down it was painful. Sometimes it would start to heal and I would get dry flaky skin, which was also painful.

Anyway, there are 2 ways to treat (which have worked for me).

Treatment No:1) Take the following for about 2 weeks:

* Metronidazole (tablets)
* Fluconazole (tablets)
* Hydrocortisone (cream)

NOTE: The first 3-4 nights it will still itch like crazy! I suggest you put something like Vicks vaporub to stop yourself from scratching (either conciously or unconciously). This is very important or it will take longer to heal.

Treatment No.2) Only if cure 1 doesn't work. (Trust me, I have tried sooo much to try and cure it over the last 6 years or so)

* Minocycline (tablets)
* Hydrocortisone (cream)

NOTE: I tried these before and they are strong, but didn't last for me. After less than 2 days the itching stopped completely and started to heal. I took these for a few weeks and everything was going well. Then I stopped and about 3 days later it came back. I don't recommend you try this unless the first treatment didn't work.

Anyway that sums it up. Seems like we are all experiencing the same symptoms but I'm not a doctor so I can't really say if it was the same as what I got.

After so many years of trial and error I finally got it right and I hope this post will help as many people as possible. Again, I'm no doctor so I don't know why or how this worked. It just did.

Good Luck Guys!

Was it only at the tail end of those three years that you used the clotrimzaole and betamethasone creams? Or did you use them continuously for the entire three years?

Ok so I have the same problem. And I'm going to a dermotologiist. But I need to symptom might be different from urs but with similar signs and also I am not a doctor. Well with that said I have been giving really strong antihistamine pills and steroid cream which helped but the pills wee to strong so I'm off them now and I'm on antibiotics and the roids. I had a rash which is brown in color under my chest also a rash in between my thighs which is red and it hurts. They took a skin sample two weeks ago and getting results soon. Doctor said its not herpes which is a relief but think its an allergic reaction to something. I will post something. When I find the results ...I never posted in the forum before so not sure if. I will remem ber to post something on here again . My email I'm putting up is my spam email so if u don't see another post u may email me ...I only check it once a week and get spam galore...so just keep sending me the same message til I respond so. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use
