About 10 years ago I took an herbal capsule to help me sleep and the directions said to drink with a full glass of water, which I didn't want to do before I went to bed, so I just took enough water to choke down the pill. After weeks of this I developed a stabbing intermittent pain (mild) in the abdomen with diarrhea.
I figured out it was the herbs so I quit taking them and the problem goes away for months at a time now only to be retriggered by eating too many nuts or nuts two days in a row or too much cinammon. ? Spices don't trigger it, seeds (no matter what size) don't trigger it, alcohol doesn't trigger it. I have NO OTHER symptoms until recently I started getting diarrhea again and the list of foods that trigger it is growing. Pepto-Bismol is the only thing that stops the pain and the diarrhea.
Yes, I know I should go to the doctor but the invasive tests that await me (plus the taking of a laxative for the tests would trigger another painful episode) make me hesitant. Does this sound like any disease? I figure since I've been living with this for around 10 years how bad can it be?
