I would like to know does anger have a neurological basis and is it hereditary?

No, as far as I know anger doesn’t have a neurological basis any more than any other feeling and no it isn’t hereditary. There are people who suffer from a certain kind of illness called intermittent explosive disorder which results in anger being used as a secondary emotion, prompting an outbreak of rage, smashing things, yelling at people and so forth. There may be some hereditary basis to this, but there is no clear evidence.

Hello there,

No, feelings are not hereditary. If you feel anger more than you should than you need to find some way to get rid of it. It is hard to deal with certain things in life, especially when things are not fair. For example, me and my father are pretty same when it comes to anger. But I am sure that this is not hereditary. Genes are miraculous but are not answer for everything.

I hope that you don’t have the same problem as I do, because I was learning how to control myself in conflict situations. The best technique is to breathe in and breathe out 10 times. After that you will be able to lead normal conversation, and anger will not interfere your judgment.
