Hello,

I was prescribed Flagyl (Metronidazole) after the tests at the ob-gyn showed I have bad vaginal infection (bacterial vaginosis). I started taking the medication as directed 3 days ago and I’m experiencing several side effects I can link only to Flagyl.

My stomach is extremely upset, I’m nauseous all the time, but what worries me more is that since yesterday afternoon and my regular Flagyl dosage I started feeling dizzy and my vision was extremely blurry. I’ve read that it might happen to some people that Flagyl causes them eye problems, but should I call my doctor or just wait until the side effects are gone?

Hi,

when I was taking Metronidazole I had terrible problems with vision - everything around me was blurry to the point I couldn't recognize most things or even faces. My doctor told me that doesn't happen too often, but he took me off the medication immediately.

So, I'd recommend you to get in touch with the doctor who prescribed you Metronidazole/ Flagyl, because this blurry and impaired vision caused by this medication can progress to almost blindness. Thankfully, things got normal in a few days after I stopped taking the medication.

I was put on flagyl to for a vaginal infection. I also had some vision problems too with it. With me my eyes kept watering. My vision was blurry. Couldn't imagine what was going on with my eyes. I looked at the side effects and it said vision problems then i googled this. Thank God i have one more to take. But i will never take them again
