Hi! My mother has the first symptoms of dementia. I know that there is no any cure for this awful disease but I heard that some things can slow down it. Is it true? Does anybody know is it possible to slow down dementia by working on mind games? Thanks!
Hi! I read a lot about dementia. Some research shows that further damage sometimes can be prevented. It’s very important for people with dementia to exercise their brain. Mind games are excellent for them! Doctors usually recommend the games like chess and bridge or daily crosswords. It’s also good to play some musical instrument.
Try the series of Mind Games developed by Alexandra Hospital, Singapore, it is very helpful for Seniors. noble-education.com/products/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=45

Well,
To be honest I am not sure if anything is able to stop dementia from progressing. I think that you can only slow down the process with medication and other mind exercises. The fact is that more you work with your brain the more you train it and it will be much harder for you to forget things. I think that this can be only accomplished with medication and the correct therapy. You need to talk to your doctor about this so you can find the best possible solution for this issue. Do you have anybody in your family that is suffering from this condition? I hope this helped you a bit.
All the best,
Nelie
