Please have your doctor test your B12 levels!!! Very easy blood test and very inexpensive. I had the same pain for weeks and finally after ct scans, ultra sounds, xrays, they finally found that I am severely B12 deficiant. This deficiancy can cause your spleen to enlarge and become painfull, as well  as other very serious side effects, even death.... But, it is very, very easy to treat!!

Hi people- I am also a constant spleen pain sufferer. I have noticed it hurts more when I have infections! But my problem is I never notice infections. Last year I had a huge bladder infection for a couple months but no pain, just my spleen hurting away like a grapefruit shoved under my ribs. The next time I had a yeast infection. So check your infections! Currently i am going to get STD tested as those infections are silent! So yeah with me it's infections. Also after I treat for the infection my spleen continues to hurt for a couple months. And exercise? That makes it hurt worse. Go for probiotics and daily vitamins and sunshine.

If you think you might be sick or suffering how about not donating your blood to people like me.... I would rather not get another diease. There are many issues that can cause a spleen to swell one of them being issues with the liver, blood diesease, immune issues. Your spleen is your bodies filter if its swollen its not working right which also means harmful stuff gets away it also messes with the counts. Donations should only be made by those in good health with no issues. !!!!! Don't donate to feel better that's rude and god forbid you have a blood diease forming that is missed in a scan.

Who besides you is talking about donating blood while sick. Just trolling for sick reason?

There was a previous post where someone suggested donating blood as a way to alleviate pain. He stated that he did so himself, and the pain would dissipate for roughly a month.

I had the same thing. My symptom was pain on the front mid way from sternum to my spleen. Turned out to be pancreatitis with 3 gal stones. They removed it. I was fine till my CLL diagnosis with accompanying spleen swelling and swollen lymph nodes.

There is months that I am experiencing a weird pain and incomfort like a tideness under my ribcage on the left. Most of the time gets worse when I eat and I am sitting, especially when I have a large meal. Now I feel like someone is pulling under my ribs. it comes and goes. It pushes under my abdomen. Sometimes is like something is moving under my ribcage. When I push with finger it's painful.

I saw a Doctor, he send me for blod test. Result came in: nothing there. He send me to a Gastro Dr. I have a colonoscopy in a few days and an ultrasone exam in a few months. My pain is steel there. Dr. said might be the Galbladder. No one is talking about my spleen. can someone help me?

I've been experiencing some pain in the area under my ribcage on the left. The pain started about two years ago but it it was mild at the time and I exerienced it at rare occassions, these days however the pain has gotten more frequent and constant; it hurts to even breathe deeply. I'll be seeing the doctor soon but I don't know what to expect.

It could be mono. That is a very common sign. Get it checked.
