Reading is still my #1 thing to do when I have nothing to do. But I don't read nearly as much as I used to, only because Olivia takes up my time during the days (all seven of them). I used to waste my weekends away doing nothing but reading.

I try to get through at least one or two books a month. I pretty much only read military history. The last two years have been nothing but WWII books and I have a queue that will take at least 2 more years to get through!

I read every night before I go to sleep. I usually have three to four books going at the same time. I like it all -- everything from scifi to the "must-read classics".

I'd rather read than go out. I'd rather read than watch TV. And I'd rather read than see a movie.

I am finally at the half-way point in Atlas Shrugged! Thanks for this thread!! :) Reminded me to get back to it, and I'm so glad I did.

Great book... but it's so tough to get through it. I've been reading the Fountainhead on and off (mostly off) for about 2 years now.

I found that the first few dozen pages were the hardest to get through, but now it's hard to put down. I'd like to read The Fountainhead eventually, but for now I've got The Odyssey to finish, and I also want to read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Maybe then I can buy TF and start on it.
I do think too that I will have to read Atlas Shrugged a second time. I know I'm missing stuff reading at this pace, so maybe the 2nd reading I can slow down a bit and savor it even more. Right now I feel like I'm on a mission just to finish it. :)
