Hello, guys. My friends’ baby has been diagnosed with ABO incompatibility. I know that his is somehow related to blood types. I would like to know if there is a treatment for this kind of disorder. Can anyone help me with some info? I will appreciate all your answers considering this. Thanks.
Hi, there. Your friends do not to worry a lot. Many children with ABO incompatibility do not need any kind of treatment at all. However, if a baby has an intensive jaundice, he/she will need an extensive phototherapy. This is in order to remove all the mother’s antibodies from the baby’s body. When all the antibodies are removed, then the phototherapy is no longer necessary. If a mother is type O and a baby is type A and B, anemia can also occur. Your friends should discuss these details with the doctor. I hope I’ve helped a little. Bye!
