Had this problem for over a year. I tried ACV, Anti Chaf balm, powder, bactine, coconut oil, tea tree oil, alcohol, peroxide, listerine, several anti fungals, different soaps, anti dandruff shampoo, and lo and behold I think I found what works a week ago. I began rotating through differnet anti-fungals and got a generic with "clotrimazole" (Lotrimin is the national brand, but why pay $3.00 more?). I rub the cream morning and night, and apply powder 20 minutes after applying the cream. I had 1 day when I started to itch and I gently cleaned myself and applied some more cream and then powder. My skin looks almost normal now and the itch is gone. I haven't felt better. I still rotate in 1 of the other 3 antifungals that I bought, but its the clotrimazole that's finally cured me :)

Hay,

I have been fighting the same type of bites. I thought at first it might be bed bugs but had my house checked and it was not. Know I think it was some type of mites or scabies...So I started researching just like everyone else. I came across http://tinyurl.com/754e8lv (Tea Tree Oil). I am very skeptical about everything I do not know about, but since the bites kept coming and I did not want or have the money to go see the doctor, I tried it. It's not too expensive and it works! I read a post were someone said to take a bath and put about 20 drops in the bath and bath for 20 minutes or so. I did this the first time. It was good, but not strong enough for me. I did some more research and read that Tea Tree Oil is one of the only 100% concentrated oils that is safe to apply directly. Now I do not recommend it for all as it is strong and you will feel a slight burning sensation, but wow....So what I do is shower and scrub with soap. Then rinse and fill the tub half way or so. Put in 40 drops or so or just apply directly (100%) to my bites. I usually do not even rinse again as the oil acts as a repellant after it dries. It has been two weeks, no new bits and the old bites are all healing. You will see that Tea Tree oil treats many things besides killing mites. Acne, fungal stuff, ect. I highly recommend it. I am NOT a doctor and am not claiming to be. I just want to share my success as those of us that have had these horrible experiences know just how bad life can get.

There are other size bottles available, but I have used thee one ounce bottles already, so four ounces seems to be the way to go.

Take care and give it a try you will not be disappointed!

Just removed what I thought were tiny ticks from my scrotum and am typing with one hand while gripping my balls with the other... none of the discussions I have read mention that the scrotum bleeds alot! And also I have no idea if it was a flea a mite or a chigger or tick. I live in an apt but recently have had a cockroach problem. I do go to the parks to read pretty often.

So put some bacitracin on and a dash of tea tree oil but have no idea if the thing is fixed whatver these little amber bubbles were they were small....

advice? I am unemployed with no health insurance

MEDICASOLUTION..

I had this SAME exact problem after buying a pit bull pup from a friend. She kept the dogs in a dirty environment. Handling and carrying the pup I began to realize i began to itch a lot. bumps began to appear on my skin. I  began to get so frustraited with this because It wouldnt stop and the itching would REALLY pick up at night.. I had this ALL OVER MY BODY.. the bugs or "scabes" are microscopic and you cant see them. My dogs Vet is the one who actually diagnosed me. My doctor didnt know what it was (sad enough) but she gave me a small tube of permethrin cream (as if this was REALLY going to cover my whole body). I got my pup a flea collar, some meds that are suppose to protect him from everything, and started bathing him with a special kill all flea and tick shampoo .. he was cured in no time..  Frustrated with no help i decided to take action.. the cream was helping but there wasn't NEARLY enough of it to cover me.. so.. I used my dogs kill all flea and tick shampoo.. Made a bath and washed my ENTIRE body with it (hair and all).. added enough of it in the water where i could seriously soak in the stuff.. just sitting in it i could feel relief..

I did this many times till they were completely gone.. but the problem didnt end there..

THEY WERE IN MY BED, ON MY COUCH, IN MY RUG, MY CLOTHES anything i touched while infested they moved into it seemed.. solution?

cans of raid and bug bombs..

sprayed my matress then bagged it to remove all oxygen to it.

sprayed down my rugs, all furniture, EVERYTHING!

placed a bug bomg in every room and evacuated my house..

when i got home I carefully took another bath in my dogs shampoo and never had an itch or bump again..

They are microscopic bugs you cant see and thrive feeding off of you and other animals. i can say i was very overwhelmed and frustrated with this because its like you are itching for no reason.. this is what i did to handle this issue.. not saying it will help you though it might.. i had success doing this... good luck!

Yes as someone here suggested my case was scabies... which helped hurry up my delayed response after being confused for a while, it really helped to know what it most likely was. Months earlier my doctor had thought I had fungus making me itch and have bumps. Then I thought I had bed bugs. Finally when it became clearer I got the Permethrin cream and when that did not make it go away after more than one application head to foot I finally convinced the doctor to give me an Ivermectin prescription and THAT finally did a good job. I had had this for quite a while and think I have had a bad infestation. My guess is that I need to convince him to give me one more prescription (there was no refill) since eggs are not killed by this stuff and I would hate to have it back. A dose is not even as expensive as the cream (in the USA) though it is strong medication.

Many people seem to try to do alternatives but if you have a serious or well established case I suggest go with Ivermectin... of course quarantine your clothes but supposedly its not quite like with Bed bugs ie you may not need to do so for extensive periods. And dry your underwear in the oven!

There is a good chance you have what I have. I went to a dermatologist and told her that my scrotum itched like mad. I scratched until sometimes I even bled. Not only that, but I have itched so bad that I've been known to take a hair brush to my scrot to scratch. It's truly life altering.

So, what did she say it was? Simply put, it was described to me as "itchy scrotum symdrome." I don't know what it is, but at least I was relieved to find out that I didn't have some sort of sexually transmitted disease. She told me that mine was due to my age (I'm 64) and that she could give me a steroidal cream/lotion. So, I would suggest that you take the time (and the money) to go to a dermatologist to find out what is wrong. I hate going through life scratching my balls all the time. And believe you me, my balls itch. She told me it was a common thing that happens to older men. She said the more I scratch, the thicker the skin gets and the more it exacerbates the problem. The problem is, if I DON'T scratch, I can't stand it. The itch is so severe that it COMPELS me to scratch. So, be careful when scratching your balls. It could be something simple and you can find out and put your mind at ease by doing what I did. Just know this, you've only got two. Take care of them!

haha. But yes Im sorry for your itch. Hopefully no bugs involved.

In my case I could see the bugs when they emerged after teatree oil and sulfur applications. And getting bugs in your scalp is especially hard to get rid of-- not if they are mites. The stuff for lice is not sufficient. It takes months to previal over this condition. I think your itches are different than mine! Actually my itches were bearable but the crawlies were more disturbing. However I can definitely recommend benadryl for the itchy symptoms. And some creams can help. Best of luck!!!

Thank you for the suggestion. I noticed that my dermatologist prescribed Clotrimazole cream, but it's expensive. I'll switch over to Lotrimin and see if it works the same. I just tried it and it relieved the itching right away. I'll see if it goes away completely eventually.

I am 52 years old and started to suffer with a very itchy scrotum . I would itch so bad that it would bleed. I tried every Fungal cream under the sun and nothing seemed to help. I did get great relief in the end by doing these things. - I shaved my scrotum area ,- I bought white only, cotton underwear.- I only wash this area with a face cloth and no soap. Then I bought Gold bond cream and applied it.---- Instant relief-----, works very well. When you first apply the Gold bond it is a real cooling feeling like a menthol affect. This tingling will go away in 5-10 minutes, so do not feel nervous over this feeling. Do not shave your scrotum area unless its free from any open wounds, sores or nicks, use the goldbond till this heals, than shave area and continue to use.

This is a kind of eczema, most probably side effect of any maintenance medicine like blood pressure, cholesterol or any heart related disease or etc., In my experience there is no permanent cure but there is a cream "Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream USP, 1%/0.5%, this not over the counter item only you have to request to  prescribe from your family Doctor, this you have to use permanently. If you discontinue to use problem will be there again.

I started to get this problem a few months ago. What worked for me is to wash the area with warm water, baking soda mix and then rinse with clean water. Then apply baby powder. I then apply baby powder after ever shower and in the evening before i go to bed, Problem solved over night...
