I've noticed it kicks in if I have put my hands under any strain - like carrying heavy bags or hammering somethin, for instance. I am a writer, so I am on my computer for hours every day - could also be related?
Why not all list commonalities and see what comes up??
* Work on computer a lot!
* Female, 36 YO
* Don't drink a lot of water
* Smoker, on and off
* Itch seems to appear with stress and also doing something strenuous with my hands.
Thanks Suzannah
I have had an itchy left index finger, under tip of the nail, for over two years. Sometimes the skin becomes callused, which I file down. At first I thought it was a wart, but the doctor said it wasn't. The doctor said it is just something that happens and to put cortisone cream on it. He added that if the callus completely covered my finger to come back. Not a very heartening prognosis
Well, two years later I returned to the doctor because I was concerned I would transfer the itch to my eyes when I put in my contact lenses. He didn’t say it would transfer, but he did say to use my other hand to put the contacts in. He added that the itching could transfer to other fingers. What gives? The only thing that offers any relief is Tea Tree oil. I cover all my fingers with it, just to make sure it doesn’t spread.
Hi. I think these may be chillblains, as I have this at the moment too since it's become really cold. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***
