i have the same problem which has been going on for the past yearish.....i have been to the family doctor 5 times and the derm 6 times as well as going to a different derm to see if he had a different outlook.....though they all have the same theorys dermatitus or fungal infection but they all ultimately say the same thing "i dont know what it is for sure" but iv found that prednizone pretty much gets rid of it all in a day or two (at least for a couple weeks)except for the red scrotum which i havnt had go away since this ordeal started. When i first got the condition it was just on my legs an scrotum as was pretty much everyone thats posted. a couple months ago it moved to the next level for me i guess u could say. It also came up on my feet and hands then went away with prednizone then came back a couple weeks later just a little bit on my face in my goatee, on the bend of my right elbow and on my left knee cap and yes im possitive it was the same thing it looked and felt identicle. i have tried EVERYTHING all kinds of steroid creams fungal stuff including the lotromin, changed soaps and washing powders, the list is endless of what the doctor has given me and directed me to do. NOTHING has worked.....my plan now is to contact someone from a university and see if i can get any input from them. i am at the end of my rope.....nobody can give me answers i think im about to go looney if i cant find some sort of relief from this problem. if anybodys got any kind of advice for me please fill free to share

Ive had this stuff for about a month and a half now. Heres the thing, it started off when I burned the inside of my thigths while practicing football and my underwear was on too tight, thus baking my crotch.I though it would just go away but NO. To make things worst I got bug bites ON MY frikkin' CROTCH and obviously it itched and it felt just soooooo good whilst itching but like 10 seconds later it burned like a mofa. This scratching led to small bleeding, and the area scratched was obviously damaged, making it prone to infections. I do a lot of intense physical activity and apart from this I naturally sweat a lot. I'm not overweight but Im big. Im a sophemore linebacker in high school and I just sweat alot, and this led my crotch to get a yeast infection. Baked crotch + bug bites (which Im allergic to btw) + yeast infection = Hell's Balls
Its not on my testicles nor penis its just around them on the thights and sort of scattered around the anal area. Its so uncomfortable, it itches and sometimes burns, its red, no liquids, fluids, secretions, nor any smell (thank goodness) but sh*t it hurts so much. And the worst thing is I play football and Im a starter and we practice and have games weekly so theres no way for me to say "Hey coach, f**k you! I'm not playing because my crotch burns, grr."
Its sort of bothering me as we speak right now, and this is my advice:
DON'T ITCH IT. Its so hard not to but holly mother of god I swear it gets soooooo much worse in like a matter of seconds.
KEEP IT DRY AND CLEAN. After showering with hot water and rubbing it with soap USING YOUR HANDS, dry it using a dryer and a towel. Don't put the hair dryer on too hot, it will hurt, believe me.
DON'T USE CORTIZOL CREAMS. Apart from the fact it smells like shitty fish oil, it sticks to your hands, crotch, boxers and stuff it doesn't help treating. In fact I think it made it worse, as it doesnt dry out leaving the area moist and stuff.
USE BABY POWDER IN ABUNDANCE. YES! THIS IS THE BEST THING, I FOUND THIS OUT LIKE 3 DAYS AGO. Befre I was using cortisol cream "Hipoglos" and it was f*****g up my cash and prizes.
USE LOOSE BOXERS. Tighty whiteys are gonna rub against your groin causing irritation. Not good. Boxers will keep fresh and when your powdered, it makes things all better. It actually feels quite good having your smooth powdered raw, burning, swollen, leathery, baggy, mutilated crotch rub against your other smooth powdered, raw, burning, swollen, leathery, baggy, mutilated crotch. It soothes the pain and keeps your business dry.
Peace out good luck, have a happy crotch!
P.S.:My red aura of pain is shaped literally like this sh*t here, but its red and pink ALL OVER:
It's liken, the fungus that gets stuck to trees you know? ITS ON MY FRICKIN GROIN AREA!
Also take a look at this video here:
Apart from the fact its hilarious it teatches you some good stuff.

I'm also having the same symptoms. The itching started around my anus and I ignored it, thinking it's being caused by the anal fissure issue I have. The fissure has been there for a year and hasn't healed so I'll be removing it through surgery soon. Anyway, the next day the itching spread to the back of my scrotum and man, it could only be described as hellish! I just couldn't stop itching, and the more I did, the worse it became. I couldn't sleep, I was going crazy, so I ran to the nearest 24hr drugstore and bought Cortizone. I seemed to help and I slept for about 2 hours, but it kept coming back. The next day I went back and bought Lamisil, washed my scrotum and applied it. 2 hours later, it was back again. Lamisil's directions say that you shouldn't use it more than once everyday, so I had no choice to go back to Cortizone to help with the itching.
Since then, I've been applying Lamisil every morning, and Cortisone a couple of times every day after washing it with lukewarm water and soap. It's been 4 days already and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. In fact, it seems to have spread to my inner thighs too! All the dermatologists I've called are either on vacation or busy. Finally I found this forum this morning and read how Cortisone has screwed things up for others, so I won't be using it. I'll buy Cruex anti-fungal powder spray (has helped me before on the fungus I had on my inner thighs), and use it with Lamisil for a couple of days and see how it all works out. Will report back to you soon.
Thank you all for sharing your experience, this is priceless!

Hey guys, I'm LG and really would like for you to read this post AND give your most sincere and smartest INSIGHT. I can't believe I finally found a great side and a perfect topic to discuss my problem. I read every single reply and, in most cases, I felt like I had wrote them. So, besides the redness, the leathery aspect, the red bumps, the burning and itching, the inner thighs as well as the scrotum as the affected areas, I've also noticed something that made me post something here, as opposed to just reading. Days ago I had a lot of these pimples -- some white-headed and some just plain red. So I kept on putting this great white cream called Hipoglos, made by Procter & Gamble, which is a fantastic pediatrics (for kids) cream and it really works. I also have to admit that I didn't shower religiously every single day, but I am an avid user of baby wipes, so the days I didn't shower, I used about at least 5 wipes and wipe the area very well, letting it air dry, since towels can be dirty and toilet paper had a chance of breaking into little pieces. Tonight, I got a desk lamp with a real good light bulb and, after the shower, spread my legs and examined my genitals. As fate would have it, I have a lot of bumps/pimples on both of my thighs, none of which have pus, but look more like dried out pimples. However, the reason that made me write today was seeing my scrotum skin very, EXTREMELY dry all over, except under my penis (where it looks normal) AND also a lot of open blisters. These blisters are all bloody (although the blood is dry), so it really looks like a real bad case of chapped lips without treatment. The worst areas are inner thighs, where I have no more skin, per se, but it looks like an open wound, in which the skin is yet to come in.
I need you guys' opinion, and am also wondering: since the skin is open and these are dry, bloody, blisters, wouldn't Lamisil or something like it OR Monistat be severe punishment for my condition?? Wouldn't it feel like putting salt on an open wound?? I thought, perhaps, I could start out with a real good and pure Aloe Vera cream or if you guys can recommend a cream or treatment to regenerate skin in the affected area -- before I can treat it with anything else, I need my skin back. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, is a piece of info, but also I wonder: I used a lot of real strong foot powder on my nuts for weeks after showering and for about the same amount of time, I was having sex with my wife, who had just delivered our daughter 3 weeks earlier (FYI, you're only supposed to have sex 45 days AFTER delivery but we just couldn't resist) and was still bleeding heavily -- which happens to every woman who gives birth to a baby vaginally. I know that blood is not as clean as menstrual cycle blood, so....could the combination of that blood and the real strong foot powder on my balls have caused this real burning/itching/uncomfortable situation?
Thanks for reading and any (smart) replies are welcomed.

CONTINUATION OF THE PREVIOUS POST
----------------------------------
Alright, on the last post I wrote that I was going to try Lamisil and Curex anti-fungal powder spray. However, I never did that because I found a great remedy for this condition.
My wife had a doctor appointment that day. When she described my condition to her doctor, she gave her a prescription for "Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream USP 1%/0.05%". It's been 6 days since then, and my itching is completely gone. This thing was magic! My understanding, based on the drug sheet inside the box, is that Betamethasone helps with the itching while Clotrimazole kills the fungus. I felt instant relief right after the first application.
However, you cannot get this over the counter. It's a prescription drug and costs $40. It's considered generic, so your insurance should pay most of it. You apply it sparingly, 2 or 3 times a day, to your scrotum and inner thighs to prevent the fungus from spreading. It stops the itching, and now after 6 days the red color is almost gone as well. I'll continue using it for another week to make sure it's gone for good.
So go to your doctor and if he says it's fungus, ask him about this drug. I'll report any further changes.

I think I might have the same problem, sounds like it!
I was having some friends round for the night, and it was hot in my room, very hot and i fell asleep in my jeans, which trap heat. So the next day I have a bumpy ring of spots by my thigh. The next day inside the ring of spots the skin turned bright red and itched so f*****g bad! And my sac is red... sounds like Jock itch?
Also if i rub the rash, i get this white paste build up? I think it's sweat and dry skin mixed?
Anyway if someone could reply to this, I'm kinda scared that it won't go away! What should I do?
I'm also using Lanacane which has lanasil in it

I had similar symptoms, and the doctor gave me an antifungal cream and a pill, which together worked great.

ok, went to the doc. She confirmed it was a fungal infection, it's the male version of thrush.
She gave me 1 thrush pill and 2 tubes of anti- fungal skin and nails cream!
She said it's gonna take about 2 months to get rid of it completely.
So stop using creams that stop the itching, use anti- fungal cream. If it itches badly, I wash it with gentle soap then turn the water down to cold and just keep it over the rash for 30-60 seconds.. Drys it out and no itch!

I am super stoked I don't have an STD!!! Everyone here seems to have the same thing as myself. I have tons and tons of sex, never protected, and with multiple partners. So, naturally, things tend to get wet down there. I had a very busy couple of days and I didn't get time to shower. That combined with my swalls, (sweaty balls), and everyday rubbing, must have caused the rash. I will take care of this immediately with LAMISIL!!! THANK YOU MEN WITH SCROTUM RASHES FOR GIVING ME A PIECE OF YOUR MINDS AND PEACE OF MIND!!!

You KNOW you're not supposed to attempt intercourse, and yet you did.You didn't try any alternative sex behaviors? You didn't just cuddle, or have oral sex, or manual sex... but ignored the doctor's orders and had vaginal sex WHILE SHE WAS STILL BLEEDING?
This is amazing that your wife isn't in the hospital with anything more serious!

Could be an allergy to the synthetic fibres in underwear, most underwear these days contains 2% lycra (aka elastacine). I had similar problem with rash, consulted doctor and tried all kinds of anti fungal/inflammatory/bacterial creams but did not work after several months. Noticed problem was worse when wearing certain underwear, so did a bit of research and found out about allergy to elastacine. Switched to 100% cotton (ensure seams are cotton only too), and hot itchy red/brown rash quickly disappeared, and have had no problems since.
