I'm freaking out a little bit. I just broke up with my boyfriend about a month ago. My period came at the normal time, but it was very dark brown and not heavy like it usually is and hardly any cramps which are usually horrible. The bleeding has stopped, but I've been sick and throwing up a few times. I'm also having a very "full" feeling very low in my abdomen and some very light low back pain with aching in my hip bones and the tops of my thighs. I've taken three home tests and all were negative. Is there any possible way I'm pregnant?
I would say that having a period and a three negative tests are definitely enough to assure you you are not pregnant. I think that you probably need to take into the account all the stress from breakup and stressing over pregnancy - that could have definitely influenced your last period. But, did you take the tests with the first morning urine, after your period came?
I took one in the evening and two in the morning time. I'm a worrier and I freak out about everything. It's probably nothing. But I figured with my luck, I'd break up with this jerk and then have a tie to him for the rest of my life. I guess time for my next period will tell the tale. Thanks.
There is no need to wait until your next period - if it's been more than three weeks since the sex, even the cheap pregnancy test will detect pregnancy with pretty big accuracy. And since two tests you took were in the morning, when the concentration of hormones produced in the pregnancy is highest, I definitely think you're not pregnant. I'm afraid that if you put too much unnecessary pressure on your next period, it could just end up being late or different and that would just add more to the load. I know how it goes, I worry over every little bit myself.
