I am a 29 year old who has reflux in both kidneys that has caused severe infections since I was small. I recently found out that I am pregnant, and I am looking for information about what I can do to reduce my risk of infection during pregnancy and/or the types of things my urologist will want to monitor during that time. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello there,
One of my friends had some similar problems as you have. She was diagnosed with chronic reflux when she was three years old and this has caused here so many problems. When she was 22 years old she and her husband had decided to have a child although she was really scared. Of course she has checked this with her doctor and he said that it was ok for her to get pregnant and that he sees no problem.
She was fine until her 8th month and then she got really sick. All in all she had to deliver her baby in 36 week but luckily everything ended just fine.
So be careful and go to your checkups regularly.
