I have been feeling bad for a very long time. I have severe pains in my abdomen; I feel fine when I lay on my bed. There were other things that I felt, like heavy but irregular menstrual cycles …and others. Of course I have been to my gynecologist and I did some tests and examinations. It turned out that I have to remove my ovary, or maybe both. He suggested doing oophorectomy laparoscopically. I am not planning to have more children but I am still considered. Should I ask for second opinion?
My sister had surgical removal of the ovaries (laparoscopic oopherectomy) last year. I know that laparoscopically is one way, another is vaginally. I am not sure which one is more safe or less painful. But she is complaining recently that she doesn’t feel so good. They suggested before that she should remove her uterus too, but she denied. She had trouble lifting heavy things and lots of other symptoms before surgery. So I am not sure how to advice you, but second opinion is always good too hear especially in case like yours.
