Hello! Can anybody explain to me the difference in these two procedures handling jaws: laser surgery and arthroscopy? Thank you in advance!
Well, I don’t know if there is any difference but I know that they can be performed at the same time. I read something about it, and I remember that it had something to do with temporomandibular joint disorders. This is what I read: First it is done arthroscopy, it is performed on an out patient basis and it should provide excellent results with minimal post operative discomfort. A small cannula is inserted into the superior or inferior joint space as well as a miniature video camera. The video picture is projected on a video screen in order to allow diagnostic evaluation and to visualize the operative site. A second cannula is then inserted which can be used to introduce operative instruments and to provide for rinsing of the joint. When this is done, then some other operative and diagnostic procedures can be performed, including laser surgery. Well, this is all I ran into. I hope you can use at least some of it. If not, I hope that somebody else can give you more info!
