I was getting nausea every time I ate something, I was on birth control and when I was on my periods, they would only last for 1 day but I was always sick. Come to find out I had already went through menapaus and the birth control pills was putting estrogen into my body which my body was rejecting. As soon as they took me off the birth control pills my one day periods stopped along with the nausea. The doctor told me I shouldn't have any more problems and I haven't. Except for the oily skin and the oily hair nobody ever mention to me about. Hope this helps.
Like you, I can not take anything for my symptoms. because of a family history of ovarian cancer.I started in my fourtys. I'm 51 now and haven't had a period for 17 months. I feel as if i may have one around the normal time i use to get one. Breast tenderness headaches nausea back aches just feel crappy. since my periods stopped, ( they didn't stop all at once) I was and still get some bloated, hot flashes night sweats irritability and get very little sleep i sometime feel fluish.. Weird.. And i get this pain in my upper flank that kills me. Had an mri and everything is fine. my Dr says its not from my hormones, but he is so wrong.. everyone has different symptoms.. I thought something was very wrong with me but its just menopause.. I sooo hate feeling tired nausea and out of energy.. Dang it. Wanting this to end soon...
Im 50, havent had period for 5 months; no more hot flashes, no depression, no nausea.
Try remifemin. (Black cohosh) 2x/day.
Eat better. Watch your sodium and sugar, or maybe glutin intake. Keep sugar from fruit down. Try fish oil and/borage/flax seed to increase omega 6. Research what is natural for your body to eat, like sweet potato for menopause. Exercise 2-4 times/ week. Track everything on myfitnesspal. Just my 2cents
(these things help me feel great). Hope this helps someone feel better.
I was on birthcontrol until just after I turned 51. Went off - had a long heavy period - then nothing for 6 months. Just started one 2 days ago and it's heavy and unwelcomed. Really? I was sooo happy with few symptoms of anything and now this? Any help? Am I to expect another? Please let this be done.
I am 48 and I said something to my dr.about having longer periods, different times of the month.heavier he says I am peri menopause .but reading all this I have been going thru it for years now the last 2 months I haven't had a period.and it's miserable.hot flashes happened for a month. Bloatness ,cramping is bad and a foggy mind ,joint pain.etc
it is a problem that I have.I more advice
Hi. I would go to a doctor with those symptoms. I started my period at 12 was always regular, had severe cramps every other month. I learned by watching my body fluids more about my own cycle. Maybe for you every three months is normal I was taught when u ovulate your vaginal discharge is clear tacky like....it wouldn't last more than 3-5 days....you can read up on this with learning about natural birth control. Regarding the pain....I still have reg periods...the pain is still every other month....4x I had dermoid cysts on my ovary....my right side which explained why the pain every other month Cuz you should be ovulating...switching the egg every month. So...I suggest you ask you doc to check your ovaries. Some cysts are normal....some aren't. Dermoid cysts can be cancerous...mine weren't....but it has always been painful. I am in my 40s now. Don't be shame..ask your doc....that is why they go to school...to help us know our bodies. Take care....aloha
I take Estroven. It's over the counter and it works great. I'm 41, been in menopause for 2 years because of stage 3 metastatic melanoma. My oncologist put me on HRTs because I was so young at the time of menopause. I got tired of being a slave to the drug companies and decided a natural solution was better for me. I've already put my body through enough HELL. I love over the counter meds and various supplements you can take. Not to go all nature girl on ya.. But I think there's something very healing in what is around us.
God Bless!
but my last period was march 26 and today is the last day of the month and still no period and i am 50
I'm battling the same thing but have not been to a Dr.

At 66 years, have not had a period in 30 some years, still feel about every month I'm going to start one but just the simpletons of it. Hot flashes have turn to cold flashes, wow getting older is no joke (smile).
I am 48, and have always gotten my period on time if not 2x a month. I have not had a period for 3 months. I have gained weight, feel bloated. Am I in menopause?
I'm 41 and haven't had a period in over a year, doctor says I'm menopausal. Are my hopes of getting pregnant really over? No medications that could reverse menopause? I am on many meds for other health issues, I believe these drugs pushed me into early menopause. Is there anything I can do?
