Hey, just wondering if anyone here has heard anything back, or figured out what might be wrong? I'm having symptoms very similar to a lot of what's described here, so I'm very desperate for answers. thanks
Daftydil - I have exactly what you describe, from the sore boobs to changing a Super tampon every hour then suddenly period stops abruptly. I am 47 and was told I have a harmless cyst last year found through ultrasound and not to bother removing it. Although period pain should be getting less as I approach menopause, for me, it's actually worse; now I miss 1-2 workdays a month. I went off Loestrin 1.5 2 yrs ago because my fibrocystic breasts hurt so badly 2 weeks out of every month I couldn't wear a bra or get through the workday unmedicated. But the pill did lesson cramps and moodiness; I ruled out IUD because I read too many horror stories online.
I cannot afford trips to the Dr. where they just keep saying nothing's wrong. Did you ever find out the cause of your symptoms, or is this normal? Lord, men have no idea what we have to deal with!!

:$ I had the same pain, nausea, and bloating. I was admitted to the emergency room in the weekend and they did an ultra sound found nothing. I went to my regular doctor on that Monday did another ultra sound they found gallbladder stones in my gallbladder. The doctor put me on a diet. But after I lost weight I haven't had any pains ever since. I think the pains are because of the stones and the over weight. I ate healthier and the pain, nausea, and bloating stop. I don't even have the stones anymore. ? ;-)

HI,
I suffered with virtually all the symptoms you described a while back and was diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) It may be that this is a possibility for you. Are the symptoms worse when you are stressed, or after eating certain foods? (spicy foods, and too much fruit can bring on a bout of the abdo pain) And do they lessen after you go to the toilet for a #2? Try peppermint solutions. I found using capsules with peppermint oil helped with the symptoms. As these are herbal they won't cause any issues if it turns out you haven't got IBS. But if it eases the problem it might also help point the doctors in the right direction for diagnosis. I will say though IBS is not easy to diagnose, all the doctors I saw have said so. Apparently the symptoms presented can mean any number of things, which is why it's easier to rule things out first before coming to the final conclusion. I hope this helps you, or anyone else that might be suffering from the same problem.
Hi I was looking on this thread to try and find answers for the stomach problems my brother has been experiencing for three years now, (sharp stabbing pains and similar to the symptoms described in the initial post) - anyone had any diagnosis yet!!? Doctors say there is nothing wrong after carrying out tests. Very frustrating as I'm sure you all know.
I just wanted to offer some advice to you for the heavy periods, to use a MoonCup instead of tampons. It won't clear up your pain, though I hope it may be gone by now, but is a huge deal better (and cheaper!!) and more hygienic compared to having to constantly use those things, and has NO risk of TSS. Also if anyone is now on medication that gives lighter periods or spotting I have found it to be helpful since you don't want to wear a tampon if you don't end up bleeding and I found it uncomfortable, unlike the Mooncup. You may also sleep with it in as there is not the same worry as with TSS and there is no leaking! The MoonCup is perfect. (a small help in your troubles though, but anyway :) )
Hey guys i am 13 years old and have these weird syptoms. In my stomach I am bloated and sometimes my bottom left side hurts and sometimes my bottom right side hurts. Just today in class after lunch i felt like i couldnt breathe out.. I felt sharp pains in my upper left abdomen. I am scared and have been researching and reasearching to see what i have. Please anybody similar with these symptoms and you went to the doc. please tell me what it may be :/
Gallbladder is on the right side but you can feel rebound pain and back pain as well
See an endocrinologist. Hyperparathyroidism or other gland disorders may be the root cause. Also, gluten-free diet may help you feel better, as even if you are not allergic, you may be intolerant. GI issues can be attributed to hormone imbalance.
It sounds like you might have diverticulitis.
I was tested found out I had kidney stones and a burst cyst. Abdominal pain is different for everyone go to a doctor and get an ultrasound it is the only way you can be sure of what your issues are.
since i was 12 i experienced all the bloating, gas, stabbing pains....etc. Just 2 years ago itnwas figured out. (i am 30 now). i had numerous abdominal ultasounds, upper gi, endoscopy, colonoscopy, everything under the sun, and nothing. Then i had a gastric emptying study done. Bingo, my answer was found! I have gastroparesis, a condition where your muscle in your stomach does not move quickly enough to digest food; hense all the bloating because food is rotting in your stomach. Every other doc just said i had ibs, or slight ulcers and inflamation. They first put me on reglan which worked great, until sometime later it having side effects of depression. I am currently on domperidone, which works great too, only no side effects, and i have ben on it for about a year. It is a drug you would have to get from a compounding pharmacy. But gastroparesis might be your answer if nothing else has come up in tests.
