I am going to try to adequately explain my symptoms in a consise format to see if I can decide if I should go to a general practionier or
a specialist. About 5 years ago I went on a long bus trip an due to sitting with my legs down for some time and eating too much fast food I developed edema in my feet and ankles. I was given a diaretic that seemed to help but it does come back from time to time. I then lost about 50 pounds and it seemed to go away. This past year I seemed to have gotten it back when I have eaten too much salt but it seems to go away quite quickly. This summer my son was in a accident and we spent two months in the hopstial and wasn't able to get the adequate exercise as we sat by him most of the day and eating out too much with no control of salt in the food. It's now out of control, I can't hardly even eat an olive and I can feel it. It has gotten so bad that it feels like my skin will rip off my legs from being taught. Also in the past year I have from time to time experienced light headness and dizzyness that won't go away. I have had inner ear before so I thought it may be that. It seems to be worse now when my legs are bad. I also wondered about dehydration. I try to elevate my legs as much as possible. I have gained some weight back as well but think it may be fluid. I was awakened last night with a lot of pain in my one leg in specific it felt like it would burst the skin. I am trying really hard to not eat salt and it's still happening. Not sure what to do. I havne't really felt good for a long time. And stress hasn't helped either.
Thanks in advance for your help
