Lexapro and sweating

I have been searching for any information on Lexapro. What I am concerned about is the night sweats I am having. I am taking 20mg, for 6 months and I experience night sweats every night. Last night I got up and realized my t-shirt was drenched. I usually just go back to sleep, but last night scared me. If anyone else experiences this from Lexapro please let me know. I am just about to lose all faith in anti-anxiety. I mean lexapro might be doing me more harm than good.

When I first began taking lexapro I started with 10mg as well, I didn't notice any changes so I bumped it up to 20mg, HUGE MISTAKE! I became very very mean. Which isn't like me. I've been back at 10mg now for 8 years. I guess I just didn't give it enough time for my own body to see the difference. So be careful!

I went on special birth control pills made specially for pre-perimenapause, prescribed by my Obgyn. That really helped. I still sweat but it's not nearly as bad.

This is similar to my experience. Lexapro is a miracle for me I absolutely love it but once a week I wake up drenched head to toe. I too re-hydrate and count the many blessings that supersede some night sweating.
I have been on this prescription for almost four months and the sweating has just started. I looked up sweating at night online and it told me I may have tumors, cancer, metapause, or could be caused by depression medication. So I'm hoping it's the medication. Lol. The meds have also relieved me from my heartburn.
I have been taking Escitalopram (Lexapro) for almost five weeks and have been waking up covered in sweat fir the past two weeks. It is winter here, so I definitely shouldn't be hot. There's been so much sweat that I have to change my bedding every day! I can feel it actually dripping off my face, neck, legs, belly and back. It's so disgusting, please tell me this goes away! I have a bunch of other crappy side effects too, like severe fatigue, short term memory loss, and inability to climax. It sucks man.
I just realised that it made my heartburn/indigestion go away too!
Yes and for anxiety also. It is an SSRI but its purpose is not limited to only an anti-depressant. But i too have been waking up numerous times throughout the night drenched in sweat. Usually my back and gead and ive tried different things to ease it. Duch as staying hydrated drinking plenty of water; going to sleep with a minimal amount of clothing; loose fitting apparel; cracking a window and/or using a fan and splashing cool water on my face and neck and/or using a cold washcloth on my neck. Nothing seems to be helping. I am only taking 10mg once a day and i do believe it perhaps is an issue with the dosing. Im returning to the doctor immediately to seek some relief. If anyone else has found a way to ease this irritating side effect, please share!!
Thanks!!
The same thing happens to me. Since I'm not on it anymore it don't happen anymore.
I get them too 29 mg for 3 months
Taking 10 mg of Lexapro nightly for 9+years, about 1 1/2 years ago I began nightsweating accompanied or inspired by dreams, most of them not nightmares.
Sorry for the late response but it happens to me too, my night sweats aren’t too bad but I sweat at the drop of a hat throughout the day. I’ll outback my make up on and it almost be pointless because I sweat all over my face! I thought there was something wrong with me, thank god I’m not alone!
Hi Guys, I am a male 37 years old. I have the same issue with this medication. I am taking it because of sever episodes of panic attacks I had. The first 2-3 weeks of using the medication in some cases my anxiety symptoms were even worse, I guess body needed time to adapt. Now I feel much better and have no panic attack anymore. Even though as many of you mentioned, I have night sweats on and off and low sex drive, also my weight is slightly lower even though it is still in the normal range.
I am suffering from heavy night sweats on it as well. Going to the doctor tomorrow to see if there is an alternative.
