I also have been getting dizzy spells and feeling light headed. My vision also goes slightly blurry and sometimes I see stars..
It's been goin on for about 3 months now. Was thinkin of goin to a neurologist.
I just had to cut a trip to Colorado short cuz i got altitude sickness..I ski all the time and this never happened to me before.
In Oct I passed out from just 4 drinks and had to be sent to the ER..Again this is something that never happened to me before.
I'll post what the Dr says.
Any Drs here?

I have the exact same symptoms as most of you. It stareted about a week and a half ago with mild dizziness and the feeling of lightheadedness sometimes a tingling in the back of my head. I was sitting in a meeting and felt like I was going to faint, took deep breaths and recovered. The symptoms come and go, and are weaker or more intense at different times.
I saw a doctor a couple days ago, he gave me a prescription for Meclizine, a motion sickness drug. The medicine seems to help a little bit, but then I become drowsy after a few hours. It has never completely wiped out the symptoms. The doctor ran many tests on my blood. The tests he did same day came negative for everything, I will receive results on the other tests in 2 days. He said if everything comes back negative and I still feel this way, he will recommned a CT scan of the head/brain, whatever it is.
He asked me about anxiety, I have recently accepted a more stressful position in the company I work for, about 8 months ago. Contiously I am unaware that I have become more anxious or stressed, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. He tested me for vertigo, it didn't appear that was the problem either.
I haven't seen a doctor in about 16 years and am 29 years old. I have never really been worried about my health in my entire life, but this is a very scary feeling so I went. I just hope it goes away soon. It is hard to function at anything when I don't feel 100%, especially at my job.

I had something called labyrinthitis about 6 years ago and i have never been the same since then. I got over most of it, was not a very nice thing to have and it took many trips to A&E until one doctor found out what was wrong with me. Since then i have made a few trips to the docs and they have always said the same, vertigo. Its taking over my life now, i cant do things as i know its going to be horrible for me, ive giving up with doctors as they are just a waste of space and keep palming me off. Just glad to find im not the only one out there.

I have the same thing you all are describing and my heart doctor told me that it was because I have an irregular heartbeat and a bicuspid valve in my heart. Not enough blood gets pumped through and it makes me lightheaded and dizzy. It can be very serious sometimes but a lot of the time it wont cause anything, as for me I am going to have to have my bicuspid valve removed and if the medicine doesn't help my irregular heartbeat then they will have to a heart cauterization.

I have very similar symptoms to the ones described in this thread and it's very reassuring reading all of them and knowing that I'm not alone.
Thank you for all of the input.

I've had the same thing for the past two weeks also. Hoping it isn't something serious. It may well be related to anxiety as i've had a history of it. The weird thing is though, i wasn't anxious when it came on?

It is a bit of a relief that I am not alone. I was really starting to question my sanity! It's been just over a month now. I was standing up talking to my boyfriend and all of a sudden I lost my vision and my balance. I reached out to grab him to break my fall. It was odd and scary, but I shrugged it off. The next day, I was dizzy for moments at a time. These waves of dizziness soon became a normal part of my day. Shortly after the first incident, I started to see spots. I feel like I am going to pass out sometimes, but never do. I will be laying in bed and feel like there is an earthquake, but its just me. I also feel like I am on a raft in the middle of the ocean the majority of my day. The awful nausea has become a new symptom that I could live without. I have been to a neurologist who thought it might be my blood pressure, but I have never had blood pressure issues before. I went to an ear, nose and throat doctor and my exam was normal and my hearing is pretty close to perfect. Because of this thing that has taken over, I am limited with driving, working, and just having a life. I am struggling in school as well. It has taken over. There are moments in my day when I think I can go out and do things. When I do make it out, I am regreting my decision because the dizziness just gets to be so much. It is hard to explain to people who don't know what it feels like. I know, I have tried. The best description I can come up with is the feeling when you drank way too much and the room is spinning, you feel awful and all you want it to do is stop. I lay down, i am dizzy. Stand up, dizzy. I also get head aches and feel tight pressure in my head for short amounts of time. I have an MRI scheduled in a few days, but have a gut feeling that it will come out fine. I am so lost. I just got a promotion, am in my dream job and I am not able to work. I feel like I am becoming depressed since I spend the majority of my day on the couch and trying to make the room stop spinning and myslef stop rocking. I am only 28 yrs. old. I just don't understand!!! %-) Hope you all find some answers.
