Hi,
When ever i get a shot, blood drawn, or i see needles or anything i get light headed normally i will be nervous and scared, then after it is over i get light headed and i can't see like my vision goes blotchy and sometimes i feel like i might through up but i never do and sometimes i faint. Today i got my ear pierced and then afterwards i was extremely hot and i couldn't breathe or see and my face was pail my friends helped me get to the restroom so i like wasn't in the middle of the mall. I am 13 this shouldn't be happening, my parent think I'm trying to get attention out of it but trust me when I'm on stage i freeze up i hate drawing attention to myself. Anyways how can i stop this i mean i need to go get allergy shots again but the last time i went i fainted after the shot not before. Can someone please tell me why i am kind of scared. Is it like a phobia or something. Sorry for any spelling errors. (i am also very athletic and had had almost every test done and I'm healthy apparently i also run track so i know my heart is okay) sorry to like kind of take away from the original question but I'm kind of freaked and i saw i could post and people had similar issues it looked like and i though y'all could help me

I was just feeling light headed and I started to take deep breaths and the dizziness went away, some time we are so busy and we forget to breathe normally and send enough exygen to the brain. So try to breathe well and hopefully it will help you. Good luck

yeah, sometimes when i would get up quickly i would feel really weird for a few seconds (2-3 seconds) like really dizzy and i feel like passing out. Nothing serious (apparently) so yeah :). Im 15 and its been happening more often since like a month ago, not that often though. After i researched i found out it usually happens after getting up too quickly. I really got worried when we were at a teen thing activity and we were all sitting down and when we got up, I was like super dizzy and I wasn't really aware of what happened for 2-3 seconds, felt like 5 seconds. I remember my friend was like "Nick! get up!" few seconds later i got up and back to normal. Another guy had to pushed the sofa I was about to fall on and said "excuse me" and I herd it, i remember it, but i couldn't do anything about it. but it was for like 2 seconds. But yeah, :) Have a nice day. Water is a really important thing guys.

Hi, I am glad to find this website.  I have been feeling the same way for the past 6mths.  I have had so so many tests done and so many medications it is doing my head in.  I think the not knowing what is causing the lightheadedness and being dizzy seems to outweigh the symptoms.  I have also been on anxiety pills which I don't like taking.  I would like something that takes it away then waiting till it happens and then waiting another couple of days for the meds to take affect. I have 4 boys and am always busy.  I have had to leave my job and it is really doing my head in.  I know I do feel hot and some anxiety when the dizziness comes on but I think that is from being scared it's happening again, it comes on anytine and can last for days.   Then I can have a great stint and feel normal for a while and forget about it, then the horrible feeling returns.  Atleast knowing what is the cause I can deal with, it's not knowing that sucks....It is good to know i'm not the only person that experiences this... As c**p as it is.

I had fallen in the shower.. sorta whip lashed myself.. anyhow, just wanted to share that for the next two months, I had vertigo, only when I bent over or turned my head a certain way... went to the Ear Nose and Throat Dr.   He did not put me on meclizine but wanted to, I refused, so he sent me to an Audiologist... I was tested in several different way.. found out that the rocks in my ears.. yes we do have them.. had gotten misplaced from my fall, I am sure and were in the wrong canal... She simply did a had me lay down and do what made me dizzy and since then I have only had one eppisode and she taught me how to do it myself... what a relief... this might not be you alls problem but just wanted to throw it out there as an alternative or something else to investigate...  I feel for you all as being very dizzy is no fun and is just as diabling as many other things..

Good Luck, Betty in VA.

I have had the same problem and realize that the problems was my anexity medicine and also too much caffene.

The sort was Atrial fibrillation millions of americans have this condition and are unaware and products such as anexity meds and too much caffene can make it worst.

Hi, I am so glad I found this web site.  I have been feeling dizzy and lightheaded since June last year and I seriously thought I was the only one who feels like this.  I had an opperation on my sinuses and had them cleaned out 2 mths ago.  I was counting on that to be the reason for my lightheadedness.  But still I wakeup the same daily, though I am on medication for another infection after my op.  I am sick of going to the Doctor's about this.  I think she thinks I am crazey.  I have had Ultra sounds, countless bloodtests, C.T scans on my brain.  It's great to know I get the all clear but I just want someone to find out what is the cause.  I will be having more tests done next month after I am finnished the antibotics for the sinus infection if I still feel the same.  I have had to give up my job and try to carry on as normal as possible but sometimes the feeling is overwhelming, my head feels like I have had a couple of beers.  Which would be great if I drank, but I don't.  This has stopped me from doing alot of activity's and going shopping sometimes is a struggle. I have 4 beautiful boys to look after and a wonderful husband which keeps me going.  I would just like to be normal again and hearing all your stories is helpful but knowing some of you had had this for years scares the c**p out of me.  I just don't know how to accept it as the new me....  Thanks for listening....

Light-headed and Dizzy. What could it be?

Hello all,
I have been suffering from light-headiness for the past six months. I was on my way to meet a friend one day and felt dizzy. This passed and the following week started feeling extremely faint (this made me feel panicky, dizzy, shaky and sweats) and had to leave work.

The dizziness abated a little for awhile (only mild attacks) Then it came back & I feel dizzy sometimes very extreme every day. Also I started getting an ache in my left ear and occasionally a sharp short pain behind my left eye and forehead. (one day I suffered tunnel vision, although just once).

I went to the doctor & she looked at my ears, She said there was a lot of wax in my left ear and it was a little pink inside so could be an infection. She prescribed Amoxcillin for a week & sodium ear drops. (they will syringe my ear after the course of antibiotics).

I still feel unwell & almost finished my antibiotics so will need to get a full assessment. The other symptoms are quite mild however the light-headedness is the most disabilitating.

It is all very worrying but hang in there & pester your doctor or health clinic. Hope you all recover soon. Heath to all : )

Well you had a baby, maybe it's hormonal. i have been feeling the same lately. I'm thinking it could be dehydration or some type of reaction to a certain food or beverage. Check out if you are allergic to certain things. I get dizzy after drinking coffee, which is a diuretic...dehydrates even more. Also sinus or ear pressure, See an ENT...(ear nose throat specialist). Also, Question if it could be an underlining depression, even though you might not think you are depressed, maybe you are. Any recent or past head trauma? I hope these ideas help.
