My daughter keeps coming out in quite nasty looking linear “burn” marks on her face. We’ve seen multiple doctors and dermatologists, and none know what it is. Before the marks appear, her face starts to itch dramatically. Then a small graze appears from nowhere, within an hour it becomes a nasty looking burn. Within a week it will almost vanish, leaving a pale pink line behind like a scar. Both cheeks are affected, but not at the same time- they appear on her right cheek, and then a few days later, her left cheek, then her right and so on. She has no other symptoms. This has now been going on for over 2 months. She’s been referred back to the GP for blood tests, which will be taken in a weeks time. This is definitely not self harm (as others have suggested to me). I’m 100% positive- I’ve seen these marks appear from fresh, unblemished skin in front of my eyes. From itch to mark, it takes approx 2 minutes. What can it be? It’s not lymes disease. It’s not scabies. It’s not dermatitis/contact detmatitis. The closest thing I can find it phytophotodermititis but I don’t think it’s that. I would add photos on here but there is no option!
