In the last 12 months my husband has developed a swelling in either his lips, cheek or general face area. This happens maybe once a month sometimes more , sometimes less. The swelling takes 24 hours to develop and go back down. He has gone for allergy blood testing but all it told him was that he has allergic tendancies! He has no other symptoms other than itchy fingers or palms sometimes with it. He has kept a food diary but there doesn't seem to be a pattern. What could this be ? After the allergy testing we don't know what else to try. ps He takes an antihistimine when he gets the swelling.
Medications, sudden exposusre to cold temperature, and exercise following the consumption of certain foods also can cause allergic reactions. Has the doctor ruled these out yet?
