I'm 50 and have had dibilitating periods, then missed two periods. Now I'm in my 4th week of having a heavy period. I can't make it through work for 1 1/2 hours without having a problem. Is anyone out there having the same problem? I'm getting very tired, and don't have enough money to see a doctor. I can really use some help!!! Thank you.

Dear Irene, you need to see a doctor. My last period before I had a hysterectomy was 27 days long-most of it was heavy. There are many things that cause long and heavy bleeding. I had an abnormally large artery going into my womb. It gave me healthy children, but made my life miserable and doctors called me a liar.  The things that cause this: fibroid tumors, cancer, a big blood feeder, and many other things that I don't know about. It took me over 10 years to find a doctor that would do the life saving surgery. Personally, if I hadn't found that doctor, I was going to rob a bank, so the prison system could see my periods and get the surgery.

I do know that you will die from this if you don't go to a charity clinic and pray that it's not cancer. They have more tools to help you than when I was having this trouble in the 1980s.
