I've been on birth control [Apri] for about two or three months. Last week I forgot my pill three days in a row and got my period. I wasn't surprised. My doctor told me to just keep taking the pills-double up until I'm back on track. But doing that seemed like a waste since I STILL had my period. I've always had a light period on Apri [I've been on it before] and it's never lasted more than three to five days, but this cycle is out of control. I will bleed through a heavy flow tampon and I'm not on day ten. Not only that, but I have cramps which I've never had before.

I don't know what my question is really. I guess I'm just worried because this doesn't feel normal for my body. Is there anything I can do? Go to a doctor or something? Or am I ok and I just have to wait it out?

I just started apri, and my period was out of control as soon as I started it with apri. I bled through overnight pads and heavy flow tampons. And I've been bleeding for the past 11 days. It got so bad I had to get a blood transfusion from the loss of blood. My mother and I have decided that completely stopping the pill would be the best thing. The gynecologists keep saying to stay on it but obviously it was the cause of all this in the first place. So depending on what you want to do, I'd either stop for awhile or try and find a different birth control with your doctor.

My period has never been this heavy before I got pregnant and usually lasts for three days, max four. Now, it has been four days of continuous heavy flow and it is really really given me concern. Why is this happening?
