Hi. I have been having headaches for two years. They started out occasional, like my head would begin hurting while talking on my cell phone. About 6 months after it started i went to two eye doctors thinking I needed glasses but I didn't. Then I went to my dentist to get a bad tooth fixed thinking maybe that was causing the headaches. Nope. Then I went to my doctor and he said tension headaches but his medicine didn't help me and they didn't go away. Then I went to the hospital and they told me I had vertigo and put me on a IV a while and sent me home. The headaches were still there. So I didn't know what to do. Months and months went by. I went to my dr. And told him my head now hurts all the time, my neck is now sore and stiff to turn my head or move it up and down. I now have what I call a foggy brain. I seem to have bad short term memory. I forget normal everyday things when i never used to. Example: forgetting dr. Appointments, forgetting to bring my daughters snack to school on snack day, forgetting my groceries at the grocery store after I pay or forgetting what I was supposed to buy when I get there. IHi. I don't ever know where my phone is. I spend more time in a day looking for things.. It's weird, I never have been like this. I feel cloudy. Like I'm here but not. When I look in a mirror, I see myself but I don't seem the same. I know it's weird but this is really what I've been going through. I have tingling in my lip and side of mouth, I have the most horrible pressure feeling in my head and ears. Like right before your ears pop on an airplane flight or driving through big hills in the mountains.. But they don't pop. The pressure just keeps building. I can't stand feeling like this. He said maybe I had muscle spasms. Those mess didn't help either. I am 30 years old with 4 kids. I am scheduled to go in for an MRI tomorrow and I'm so nervous. I want answers but I don't want anything major to be wrong with me, and if the MRI is good then I'm right back to the beginning of what's wrong with me? I will suggest to my doctor that I get tested for Lyme disease as many posts on here recommend. Hi Hardehe1,

I just posed this on another post, and you are right to carry on pursuing the doctors but I wanted to offer a way you may be able to help yourself. Currently there is a lot of new research into neurological problems and eating gluten - a definable link has been established. Whilst oyu are pursuing the doctors - try what i suggest below for a week and see if you feel better.

Gluten and Neurological diseases

Hi Guys - here to help!

I too have experienced and still do occasionally experience these problems and have given up with doctors to a degree. I discovered when i took myself off to India for 2 months to study yoga intensively that this essentially (overtime with hardwork!) fixed all my ailments, and also changing my diet (my diet out there was naturally gluten-free, which I only realized upon returning home and getting sick again).. whether or not you want to try yoga (and i mean doing it 3 times a week and find a class that really challenges you - not one where you are lying about on the floor for hours) then have a go.

But additionally to this Ive found diet has a MASSIVE impact my pain / twitches / breathlessness. Avoid sugar at all costs, and i would also certainly say if you are suffering with these symptom HAVE A GO at avoiding gluten for at least a week (if you can, cut it out entirely forever). There have been recent papers produced showing the link between gluten and lots of neurological symptoms and psychological symptom - and a coeliac test WONT tell you if you are susceptible to it in this way.

maybe ask your doctor about this possibility - BUT as I say and as is stated in this article i think, a coeliac test wont always pick it up, as it is looking for specific protein markers and i know they are looking at using other new protein markers for different types of sensitivities to gluten.

If you are at the end of your tether - please have a go and try to help yourself where the doctors cannot find a cause. if it makes you feel better - then its fantastic, if it doesn't you've not lost anything. My first suggestion would be to spend 3 days on a mono-diet (it is basically like fasting, but easier as you get to eat).

This is from an indian medicine book and i did it for 7 days and all my sypmtoms went away (including lethargy and brain fog).

Kichadi

1 cup of rice 1 cup of YELLOW mung beans 1 tablespoon of Ghee 1 teaspoon of cumin seed 1 teaspoon of mustard seed (brown or black) 1/2 teaspoon turmeric 1/2 teaspoon of salt (if you dont have all the spices dont worry - the main thing is just cooking up the rice and mung beans (also called daal). you can then add spices you want (but if you use a stock cube BE SURE it has no wheat or gluten in - otherwise you defeat the object).

Leave mung beans to soak overnight in water. then in the morning add the cup of rice and salt and 6 cups of water. Boil for 30 mins or more (adding water as necessary). It will become like a thick porridge. Thats your basic kichadi. Heat the ghee in a frying pan and fry the cumin and mustard seeds for about 30 secs until brown tip the ghee mixture in rice/bean mix and stir. sprinkle in the turmeric Thats it - and that is food for your whole day - repeat for 3 day or up to 7 (you can start adding in vegetables after 3 days. Give it a go and see how you feel

please let me know if it helps

Hi again. Oops sorry for the repeats. I had typed the post from my phone and must have copied / pasted or something goofy and I'm sure many typos as well. I went to my MRI today which was ordered to be MRI with/and without contrast but they only did it without contrast. I'm not sure why???? I wanted the contrast done as I heard it was more sensitive and could show more. I have not received any results yet but i will post them once I get them. Thanks for any help. And does anyone have any idea why the contrast was not done? Thanks

I went through this for so long, eyes and teeth too. While I can't say what you have I have learned it will help you mentally to take control of those things that you can. I too spent hours looking for keys, shoes, everything. I get lost all the time, directions get lost easily. I have a carebiner hook that i clip my keys to on my purse and I (almost) always clip them on there, so they are always there or in the ignition. Of course every once in a while I will forget to do that and the hunt is on lol. hot wet dishtowel on your neck might help but should feel good either way. Try to keep things in the same spot otherwise youll drive yourself crazy spending so much time on these little things. I was diagnosed with MS in 2009 but now drs say my neuro was on the take so I have no clue for sure what it is. I think it's MS but they want me to start over and I'm not going to. Oh and be careful of taking all the medications they want you to take it is easy to just having more of them added for the side effects of the others. Good Luck hang in there. God Bless

your GFR must have been too low, your kidney's were not healthy enough to process the dye, if your creatinine is high, the contrast will hurt your kidney's
